The olive wood construction feels sturdy and high-quality, and the sisal bristles are firm enough to provide effective exfoliation without being too harsh on my skin. I don't understand by this item is priced so much higher than similar items on Amazon. Perhaps the olive wood?

So I'm hoping this breaks in a bit because honestly to start it's actually *very* abrasive. That does mean great exfoliation of course, but it's definitely an aggressive scrub. If that's what you're aiming for, this will definitely accomplish it.
