Bonzai Chopper Vegetable and Fruit Chopper, 2 Blades and 3 Storage Containers Included

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews for this...I've used mine for years and love this dang thing. I've thrown just about everything through it, and it works like a champ. (certain items, such as celery with it's stringy consistency tends to be harder, and I do not use it for nuts or cheese!) I recently purchased one for a friend as I loaned her mine for a mountain of tomatoes she was doing for a potluck (and no, it doesn't just squash the tomato) and she LOVED it. Yes, it can be a little tricky to clean, but the little plastic guard works really well at helping with that. I also make sure I rinse it immediately after use, which helps with clean up tremendously. I enjoy the uniform sizes you get from using this on your fruits and veggies, not to mention ham, eggs...etc... and the time it saves you in the kitchen!

The chopper saves me a lot of time chopping different vegetables. There is a little movement in the plastic hinges when using the product and one has to pound very hard to chop through potatoes. It does not chop as well through vegetables with skins such as peppers. Because of the movement in the hinges, the top needs to be in just the right position or else the hinges take a beating. The blades seem to stay sharp after years of use (this is my second one). Some versions come with a plastic netting that is placed over the part that pushes the vegetable through the blades. This netting makes the product easy to clean. I also like the containers. It is easier to empty the container than to have to try to dump the food from the chopper in the opened up position.

I received my Bonzai Chopper on Thursday, June 7, 2007 and used it for the first time on Friday, June 8, 2007.My task was to chop one onion. I peeled the onion and halved it. With each half, it took nearly five or six hefty strokes to get through a rather small onion.As for cleanup, there are too many cavities for the food to get lodged in. I have cleaned it several times by hand and once in the dishwasher (on the top rack, as instructed). Still, there are pieces and odors of onion in the chopper.In addition, the blade I used to chop the onion was placed in the dishwasher for cleaning as well. After just one washing, the chopper blade shows visible rust.I returned it for credit.

We first bought a bonzai chopper when they first came out several years ago to see if using this product would be effective for making salsa. It is. This the best product we have found for making and canning salsa. We have worn our first one out and broke it this last year. I am glad I was able to find it again and just to be sure I purchased two. Love this product

This is my 3rd one, I love it that much. I use it all the time. Easy to access & store.

does the job

This was a replacement item. The only difference was the storage bowls were not as sturdy as in first set. Otherwis, everyone needs one of these. Makes chopping veggies simple.

I have owned and used this chopper for many years. When I use it people are amazed to see how fast I get things chopped, and they ask where they can get one. I bought additional ones to leave at my lake house and cabin - every kitchen should have one!

Such a waste of money... I was so excited to use this chopper since I heard good things about it. It looks heavy duty but it doesn’t do the job at all. All the vegetables or anything that is chopped gets stuck and everything turns into a mush with the small-holed blade. I would never recommend it. I would just re-purchase the Vidalia Chop Wizard from Bed Bath & Beyond.
