Three Stars
Liked the shoes but seemed to develop a hole quicker than expected.

but I can climb comfortably in them for an hour or so
This is my first pair of climbing shoes, but I can climb comfortably in them for an hour or so. I am still breaking them in though, so I expect that to change.

I am a new climber and understand these shoes are not meant for comfort...but c'mon they are less than tolerable. I am going to keep em and see if they stretch to bearable. Another thing is they make very embarrassing noising as I walk or climb!!! Hahaha

So far so good
So far I am liking these shoes a lot. They fit very snugly, which is what you want in a climbing shoe. I purposely sized them smaller, as I was told that they stretch a bit after a month or so of use. It is a little narrower than I'd like (my feet are on the wider side), but hopefully the aforementioned stretching will fix that.I did notice that on my first climb, they were slipping a little bit. Not sure if it's because of the footholds or because of the shoes, but they stopped slipping after a few climbs.

Too small
The shoes were comfortable only in certain positions, the hard plastic on the heel dug in and the toes were very cramped. I bought the size climbing shoe I always use but maybe I needed to go up a size

Good starter shoe
Really comfortable for climbing shoes. Great shoe to start with but once you start climbing above a 5.9/5c you'll want to switch to a more aggressive shoe. The rubber on this shoe isn't very sticky and the shape isn't great for tough moves, but if you're just getting started, it's a comfortable, affordable way to go.

Beware the split-leather at the achilles.
The upper heel cup of these shoes is split in a "V" shape (on purpose), and when you wear them the outer rubber heel cup layer is able to poke through the "V" and it cuts into your achilles when the shoe is short enough for climbing. I had to snip 3 of the stitches spanning this "V" because the thread was sawing through me like my heel was made of soft cheese. I took these back to the store and traded them for a pair that has a normal binding above the heel cup. Now, onto the good:This lace up climbing shoe has a good combination of leather and synthetic in the upper. The leather across the toe box, tongue, and lining mean it will absorb sweat better and dry out faster than a fully synthetic shoe (and stink less because of it), and the perforated rubber in the heel and sides also helps with perspiration. The synthetic across the lacing area keeps them from stretching too much in width over time. These are supposed to stretch about a half size in length over time (not sure how long that takes), so don't get ones that are too roomy. The toe box has enough room vertically that your nails won't be pinched down at the end: for me this is a necessity or I lose the nail. But it's not so roomy that your toes will slide around while climbing.I normally wear a 7.5M street shoe and the 7.5 fit with the right amount of toe-curl. I was instructed to try a size smaller because of potential stretch, but the 6.5 and 7.0 were far too short (toe crunch, unable to stand). They'll fit wide feet and narrow very easily. If your heels are well calloused, you might not have issues with the split-leather shape of the heel cup top, but I couldn't even get to the pitch in these without blood.

Good shoes
I've only used these once, but I tried on several different styles and this fits the best. I think the lace up style is good, it fits a wider range of feet. My feet are a little wide with a narrow heel.
