The Battle for WondLa

The Battle for WondLa is the final piece in a three-book puzzle. When The Search for WondLa first appeared, my entire family was instantly hooked. Delightful, vibrant characters, a stunningly vivid world, and wholly original plot make DiTerlizzi's trilogy a must-read for any lover of fantasy. -actually, I take that back. I believe that anyone- despite age or genre preferences- would fall in love with the WondLa books. The characters are simply so REAL. They have wonderful flaws as well as wonderful strengths. They love. They are betrayed. They fight, they run; they win, they lose. Ultimately, friendship, loyalty and good emerge triumphant, and although I hated having to say goodbye to this universe, I was satisfied. DiTerlizzi manages to wrap up all loose ends, yet leave enough open so that the story never truly ends. You are not left wondering what will happen to the beloved characters, but you find yourself *imagining* what will, which is a drastic difference. (plus Tony DiTerlizzi's illustrations- gorgeous. whimsical. perfect. I often flip through the books simply for the joy of looking at the pictures.)So, if you enjoyed the first books, if you enjoy a good fantasy romp, if you seek adventure, if you long for a tale of sweeping discovery, if you want to rediscover the joy of a good, satisfying fiction, (ultimately- if you breathe) -- read this book, read this entire trilogy.I promise that you will not be disappointed.

We need more than three in this series. My granddaughter was given the first in this series when she was 7, and really didn't plan to like it. But she has loved this series. I read it to her at night and she fought to stay awake! Now she's old enough to read the story on her own, but we have a tradition so I'm still the reader. And she does crafts! She is already hoping there will be a fourth. And fifth. These books are exciting, and at the same time show a wide range of behaviours in an imaginative setting. I've come to consider some of these characters as lovable and lasting as those of C.S. Lewis and many others.

Brilliant bought it for my 12 year old and she couldn't wait for the final instalment. Had it on reserve at the library in Wellington, New Zealand. When it finally arrived she was so happy she was the very first person to read it. Tony is an amazing author and it has got my daughter reading again. :)

I enjoyed this series very much. I hope they make a fourth book. I love the world that was created and the characters. It makes me want to keep reading every time I pick it up.

This entire series was very well thought out. I enjoyed the creature concepts, and use of science fiction elements. DiTerlizzi is an artist at heart, and that translates to his characters both physically and emotionally.

This is absolutely the most wonderful and creative series of books I have ever read. I read straight through all three books. The excitement and wonder of these stories is amazing. The message you are left with is one every hu-man should learn and understand. Thank you Tony for a most enjoyable reading experience.

I love this book series! Eva Nine is a wonderful heroine and I found her empathy compelling. This is a great book for 10ish and up I'd say. There is serious subject matter of abandonment, death, betrayal and mentions of tourture. I really enjoyed reading it with my daughter and we still reference it frequently. It's very interesting.

My daughter was so ecstatic upon seeing this 3rd book, she has been asking me get her a copy but couldn't find one available in the Philippines...so I finally came around to getting from Amazon! I left it in the car and when we picked her up from school screamed to death out of excitement! Was even surprised to see it was signed!!! not sure if it was a printed signature though....I hope they make it into a movie!

My 9-yr-old daughter and I read it together (my attempt to get her hooked on reading)! We couldnt wait each night to get to our reading time. This author certainly helped my cause!! She almost cried when the book was over and told me that was going to write Tony DiTerlizzi and ask him to write another book in the series!! How about it?? Awesome, just awesome--:)))

Merece la pena leerse la saga entera, nada que envidiar a ningun otro libro juvenil. Un derroche de imaginación y unos dibujos aún mejores que los de los dos primeros libros (esta vez a color).
