Iconic Chicago Dishes, Drinks and Desserts (American Palate)

I absolutely loved this cookbook! Not only are the recipes great and originals but the in-depth history that goes with each recipe was absolutely fascinating. The writer did and amazing job of perfect balance throughout the entire book! I’m now looking to get another one! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did! It was a lot of fun!

The three star rating is not for the contents of the book. The vendor listing stated this was a new copy of the book. If so, their idea of what constitutes new is not the same as mine. The cover had creases. The outside of the book was not clean. Looked like it had been sitting on a dusty shelf for some time. That said, the book itself is really cool. I live in the Chicago area and plan to visit many of the restaurants outlined in the book. It will make for some interesting field trips when my family visits from out of state.

Having formerly lived in Chicago, the food is one of the things I miss most. Being able to accurately recreate beloved dishes at home (and read about the history behind them) is fantastic. I'd recommend this book to foodies and history buffs alike.

Read this book, over and over. It is a great reference to some of Chicago's best, most well-known foods. What a fun walk through iconic places and their signature dishes.

Amazing recipes...So far the brownies and pizza have been spot on. Ms.Bizzari's research on Chicago is phenomenal.

I love this collection of recipes because Chicago is my hometown. It is full of stories which makes it even more appealing.
