Lacks flavor
Lacks flavour that’s associated with monsoon malabar.

Cultivated at 3,000 feet and nourished by volcanic soil and teased by the monsoon winds, tickled into the overall raison d'etre for the beans....or so the description says (something along those lines). Whatever it is, this coffee is great had black or with milk. It has a slightly smoky and chocolate taste with just the right amount of acidity and is of medium intensity. The last Monsoon Malabar beans I purchased was from Sweden. These ones are pretty similar so as per expectation i.e. great coffee!

I was a little skeptical about the Indian Monsoon Malabar AA because I thought it might be just a little too complex for my liking. My mother recently went on vacation to Jamaica and she brought home some Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. At that point I decided it was time to buy and Espresso machine because, why not? We enjoyed the Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee so much that we even bought another 1/2 pound bag of it on Amazon but at $60/lb, it was just a bit too expensive. We tried a few other coffees and they were just so bitter in our Cappuccinos. I started doing some research to find a coffee that wouldn't be bitter but would also have a great coffee taste. I finally landed on this Indian Monsoon Malabar AA but I must admit I was sort of expecting to be let down. I thought it might be too complex for my liking with all the talk of "notes of tobacco, spices, etc." but I read from a few people online that it might be just what I was looking for. I knew after my first sip that I had made the right choice and both my mother and I agree that we like it even more than the Blue mountain coffee we had. The Blue Mountain was excellent but this coffee just had so much more going on (in a good way) and was not bitter in the slightest. I am happy to know that Volcanica seems like a very legitimate and reputable company that sells high quality coffee at an affordable price. I can't wait to try out some of their other flavors, although I must admit that it's going to be hard to buy a different one after this.

it really delivers on the "no acid" content. But the coffee flavor could have been stronger.

Always prompt delivery, I like the environmental conciousness of the company. The Monsoon Malabar is low acid and very smooth. However i like a little more pronounced flavor so i mix it half and half with a bolder coffee.

I bought this coffee at my husband's request-- he thought it sounded good. He ground up enough to fill a small cannister, then made himself a cup. He *despised* it, and when I tasted it, I agreed with him. It tasted TERRIBLE, and not because it was strong. He's an old Army guy and can drink just about any kind of coffee, but this was just awful. Plus it left a bad taste in our mouths. I threw out the entire package. Too bad-- I should've returned it and demanded a refund.
