Excellent for big people.
Excellent poles. Large rubber footprint. Ergonomic handles, shaped to allow downward pressure on pole without having to grip pole tighter. Instructions come with to accurately adjust pole length. Pole is stout/rugged diameter. Pole does not shimmy shake, noodle wiggle while being used. Also excellent for large people. I'm a 6", 245# man. I feel very safe and stable using walking sticks.

Good for walking and balance
I selected these poles for my husband who has some serious balance problems since his stroke. They work well for him because he is able to feel more secure while walking and they help him stay upright (unlike a "walker" which would require him to bend over) these are height-adjustable and easy to manage. They are very lightweight and seem quite sturdy; the large "feet" provide a reasonable platform to help with walking balance. Recommended!

Superior support when walking
These poles are a life saver! Helps me keep my balance on uneven ground. Very sturdy, well made and I really like the handles.

Great mobility aide
I like the comfort of the hand grips and the stability of the large bottom pad. They are easy to adjust down but are too long to fit into the majority of luggage even while advertised as traveling. They made it possible for me to walk on uneven cobbles, up stairs and steep slopes while enjoying cruise excursions. However the omission of straps made it awkward to not hold them while taking pictures. The Velcro binding and the clip make it possible to join the two into a stable unit and use as one pole. I appreciate the sturdy feel but wish they were packable. It's difficult to negotiate airports while dragging luggage and carrying the poles. The were recommended to me by my balance/mobility therapist and I practiced with them prior to purchase.

Perfect for older people needing to get out and walk
I use these poles every day. I tried the fiber poles but these poles are so much sturdier and yet still light weight. I feel secure about my balance. 75 years old but with a back injury that makes hiking hard. These poles give me the help I need. I like the grips as they give me propulsion, engaging my core but they are sweaty in warm weather. I think I need light weight gloves.

It's worth a try
I just started using these poles and I'm optimistic that they will help me walk better. I have very bad osteoarthritis in both hips and lumbar stenosis. Being more active is a goal but it's not easy with the weakness and chronic pain. I was using a cane but my gait was very asymmetrical. I began using a rollator/walker but my arms weren't moving in sync with my legs and I was starting to feel weaker. I saw someone with trekking poles and did a little research to see if these might be helpful. I determined that these were the best for me and so far I'm very pleased. After just a few days, my spouse has noticed that I'm standing straighter and not hunched over. I'm having minor soreness from weak muscles but, to me, that's a good sign that I'm on the right path. My only issue is, despite being imprinted with an "L" and "R", I keep grabbing the wrong pole in each hand. I plan to get a little sticker so that I can identify them better until I get used to the way they feel. I'm very grateful that this company exists and makes this product for people like me.

Give support and help balance
I have not used these as I had hoped I would, but I haven't been walking as much either. These poles are well made, very sturdy and light weight. They are easy to use and I did find that when I was walking and used these that my knees and back did not hurt near as much as they had done in the past. I didn't even wear a compression sleeve on my knee. I did need to wear gloves when I used these, but that's because it was darn hot and my hands were sweating a lot and I was having trouble gripping the poles. Not the poles fault, it was just in the high 80's with high humidity. These are a basic walking pole for balance and stability, they are not Alpine walking poles. There are not a lot of videos of Activators on line, mainly Alpine, but view some of the on line information to make sure that you are getting what you want. There is a difference. One big thing is these have no straps, mainly because of stress on the wrists. When I do get out and walk, I use these and it makes a big difference in how far and long I can go and how I feel afterwards.

These poles are amazing! I have a balance disorder which has lately been causing more pronounced stability issues, and these have worked wonderfully in giving me my confidence back! Lightweight, easy to hold and adjust, arrived quickly, and exactly as described. Absolutely recommend 100%!

I have Parkinsons disease with balance problems. These poles have given me confidence to walk further and with better pace. The handles are a great design feature, ensuring that there is no muscle tension in hand, arm or shoulder. The ferrule on the bottom ensures a firm plant of the pole. Adjustment of length straightforward. Arrived very quickly. Worth every penny!

These have changed my life. At 89 years of age I found walking very tiring and my back ached. With these poles I am able to be more upright which alleviates the back problem and I am striding out as the poles help with balance and seem to adjust the weight more evenly. Now I try to walk outside every day and am really enjoying it whereas before I had to make myself venture out as I knew how uncomfortable I would feel. These poles are the best value for money

I am very, very pleased that the walking poles arrived in only two days. On the 16th of the month, the estimate had been the 22nd to 29th. They arrived on the 18th. This was fabulous because I needed the poles urgently, and preferred these poles in particular. Excellent product. The hand grips are well-designed with a palm rest. There is no distinction between where your index finger should sit, and that knob would be annoying. IN PARTICULAR: The end fittings are round and full, which provides for good stability.

Extremely good for correcting posture. I particularly liked the grip on the handles and the fact that these poles don’t slide shorter over time. The length is fixed to your desired specifications
