Stop Making Sense Deluxe Edition

It is amazing to me that people leave reviews to complain about how Amazon did a poor job delivering their item, or about how they should not be held responsible for their inability to read. This is what it says it is, the soundtrack to the movie. Blu-ray audio is a big thing with audiophiles, so there are quite a few people that are very happy that this release includes a Blu-ray audio disc.It is great to finally get the complete concert, and it sounds great! Like another (actual) reviewer stated, it would have been nice to get some of the in-between chatter. If you are looking for the movie itself this is not it (the fact that the category is "CDs & Vinyl" should give that away). There is a deluxe collector's edition by A24 which includes a few different cuts of the film.Oh, and mine came damaged, but that is not what a review is for. A review is to let people know what you think of the actual item that you purchased.

I have seen many 1 star reviews because people thought they were buying the concert video. This is definitely a 5 star audio mix. It is not the same mix as the concert video audio mix. This atmos mix is much more immersive. I'm not sure how anyone purchasing this was not aware it wasn't the concert film? This presentation shouldn't be unfairly rated because it's not a video and you weren't careful enough to read the description! It is a 5 star audio mix. If you enjoy immersive audio, then you will find this to be a great addition to your audio collection, especially if you already have all the other 5.1 Talking Heads albums on DVD! Don't get this if you want the concert video. If you enjoy great audiophile music, then get it!

I was hopeful when I read that it included a blueray, thinking without reading deeper I guess it was the concert movie on blueray to watch. Nope, it’s just a blueray with the music no movie. The double cds sound excellent. I’m not returning it , I’d just add it to my collection

Rating this for what it is-just the audio for the remastered film. It’s a three disc set with a two CD expanded version of the soundtrack (the previous expanded reissue was a single disc over 70 minutes but missing a couple of songs). The third disc is an Atmos lossless reissue of the sound track.What’s disappointing? No movie. While I appreciate having the lossless Atmos mix on the Blu-ray Disc (something Rhino has been a bit reluctant to release in boxed sets), I am disappointed that I will have to buy the remastered version separately from a boutique label. The result is that fans will spend about $70-80 bucks for two separate things that should have been released together.The packaging is cardboard sleeve with a replica of the original booklet for the vinyl version tucked inside. The two CDs are on plastic spindles. The Blu-ray is on its own hub. It’s handsome packaging but I’m surprised that Rhino didn’t just license the movie as well and put together the ultimate set.Audio sounds decent on the CDs (some slight compression was applied) while the Blu-ray is lossless.

I love the new stereo and Atmos mixes in this set. The packaging is great, love that the original booklet is included and expanded. The CD case itself grabs discs by the edges instead of being a sleeve or spindle type so the discs feel more secure and protected from scratches. Top notch set!

Excellent edition, just wonder why it was not released at the first time with the full track as it.

I have wanted a surround sound audio disc with all the songs from Stop Making Sense. I have the DVD Audio set (Brick) of all the Heads studio albums so this will make a fine addition. These are my favorite way to listen to Talking Heads. Having the remixed CDs is awesome as well. I just can't believe that people are not reading the description and thinking this is a movie. Also, you don't give something a bad rating because you failed to pay attention. That's not how reviews work.

The blu ray audio disc with high definition sound sounds spectacular in the stereo mix (now who’s sorry I don’t have Atmos?)You can hear the entire concert uninterrupted on one disc, with the excellent bonus tracks included in the correct order.

I got this thinking there was sound and vision but blu ray is just various mixes for 5.1 enthusiasts ( not me ). CD s have extra tracks and have been cleaned up so 40 years on sound vibrant Reminds you how great this project was as it captures the band at the height of their creativity ( with a little helping hand from Mr Eno) just post Remain in Light and a year or two after the best ever - Fear of Music Nice booklet too.

Que David Byrne es un genio nadie lo duda. Y como el mismo dijo (lo he leído en algún sitio) Talkings Heads pudo llegar a ser uno de los grandes grupos de la historia. ¿Realmente no lo fue? Yo creo que sí. Y vosotra/os?

Auch 40 Jahre danach ist es für mich noch immer das grandioseste Konzerterlebnis, wie ich jetzt bei der Neuauflage im Kino wieder festgestellt habe. Die CD ist zwar nur ein Ausschnitt davon, aber immer wieder von Neuem hörenswert.

Essendo un fan dei Talking heads è stato un ottimo acquisto. Arrivato anche con un certo anticipo.
