Johnston & Jeff Premium Wild Bird Food, Wheat Free with Suet 20 kg

Quality seed mix, very popular with the birds, have bought for years and wouldn't buy any other, as great value too.

This is an excellent product which isn't available locally where I live so I order it on Amazon. It is the best wild bird seed mix (no wheat and no grow) I've found, there's no waste (the birds love it) and it smells good so I can store it in a swing-lid bin in the kitchen with no odor. It's good value for money and being supplied in a 20kg bag lasts for ages - it's also great having it delivered to my door!

I have been feeding the birds in our garden for many years, and used to buy all our seeds in large sacks from Jacobi Jayne, C.J. Wildfood and RSPB, but prices kept increasing so much and doubling in price in some cases, they were becoming far less affordable, so I looked around for another husk free product and came upon this which I've found to be a top quality seed mix with suet at a more affordable price, and the birds absolutely love it. I have found it to be a good value high quality bird food which is just as good if not better then the other brands we used before, and I couldn't recommend the product enough. However I've marked it down one star due to the delivery service as I received an email yet again to say my last order was undeliverable so had been returned and I'll be refunded. This is the not the first time this has happened so it's very frustrating when you are nearly out of it. We were in all day so I can only presume it was damaged in transit. It won't be the first time, so I will shop around to see if I can find the same product to buy elsewhere.

I am about to purchase my fifth 20 kg sack This is by far the best price I have found online for a good quality 'no mess' mix. I put it in a giant seed feeder and the birds fight over it - especially the many sparrows I have here, and the tits and finches, I sprinke some on the ground for blackbirds, robins, dunnocks, starlings, pigeons and collar doves. They all seem to appreciate it and the blackbirds (at least) have been collecting it to feed young. Other brands of similar feed I have found online are twice the price, and I would not be able to afford to feed the birds with these since I am now buying a 20 kg sack every two-three weeks!!! My only grouse is that Maultbys charge delivery of £4.99 PER ITEM - not per weight. Last time I ordered four different sacks of bird food which cost me £50.96 and the delivery charge was £19.96. In future I shall order only Superior Husk Free and then buy sunflower seeds, and peanuts at my local store.

This is the birds fave. No waste at all, the mix is very clean, smells of aniseed and everything is consumed. I have previously bought cheaper husk free mix and there is always certain seeds that the birds never touch and it just builds up and is wasted........this Johnston and Jeff product, though expensive is far superior and is very much you get what you pay for. There appears little or no wheat so I am not getting dozens of pidgeons. The only problem is....the mix is so appealing to the birds that I am getting far too many of them coming to feed and it is a rather expensive activity to keep up. The Seller provides a first class service.
