This is a great product. It pits cherries easily. The metal prongs make it better than others I've seen. You need to give it a strong push down and it misses pits here and there so still check them. Easy to clean.

I use this pitter when I'm making a fruit salad and don't want my family or guests to have to pit the cherries themselves. It's super easy to use and it's great that you can pit 6 cherries at a time. Sometimes the pits don't come completely out so I check to make sure there are 6 pits in the tray after each use. No big deal.

The lock and unlock cannot be used with just using your hand. The one we received had to almost be pried from one position to the other.UPDATE: Customer Service is wonderful. They’re sending a new Pitter and ask that I return the defective item. Easy drop off for me. Fingers crossed the new one works more easily.

We did a lot of cherries in very little time to make cherry jelly. Will be buying another one.

My husband used this when I baked a cherry pie and he broke it the first time it was used. The plastic tray the pits fall into cracked. I was worried about the plastic pieces falling into the pie as they were small. Next time I'll order a metal product.
