Ideal … perfect weekend away bag… this does it all

A bit disappointing
It's a solid rucksack which remains compact and fairly slimline, even after being filled to the brim, making it good for travelling. The straps have minimal padding, however, and tend to dig in quite a bit. You can always buy strap padding separately, but I'm disappointed by the lack of comfort given the price. The bronze colour is honestly much closer to a bright orange than brown or bronze which also disappointed me. Returned.

Excellent quality as you'd expect from a Bellroy bag. You pay for it, but if you travel a lot it's worth it. Size is perfect to stash your headphones, laptop, water bottle, maybe a neck pillow, etc. and it has a nice hidden pocket for your passport and wallet. I bought a caribiner that makes it easy to hang up and it has a nice luggage pass through so you can attach it to your rolling carry on.

I've always liked Bellroy products because they are well thought out in design, look good, and have a lot of small features that pay dividends the more use I get out of it. I've been using this backpack exclusively for the past four months for my everyday backpack. I use the top pocket to have the usual stuff-- pens, chapstick, and other small items. I'm to the point where I need to carry reading glasses so one side holds my readers and the other side holds sunglasses. I usually carry either a 14'' MacBook Pro or an iPad and almost always a Kindle Scribe. Having to internal sleeves is great for that. The main carrier area is spacious enough. It might be a little tight for me to use as a travel backpack. But if I needed to, I can throw in a sweater or puffy coat in there. It's nice when I just need a cavernous space but not go too crazy. This is the thoughtful design I was talking about and that everything has it's place with solid organization. I bought the blue color and it's a subtle blue and not flashy. As far as comfort, the shoulder harnesses are quite comfortable but what sold me was that it had a sternum strap. This sternum strap is so cool because it uses magnets. I don't have to do much to attach it. I've seem so either cheap looking clips or some interesting engineering that takes a little more time-- I'm looking at you Fjallraven! I prefer backpacks with sternum straps because as a female user, our chest area is a factor in how the shoulder straps stay where they need to. Overall, I love the build quality and how I use this as my everyday backpack. I might use this on trips but I do have other backpacks that might work a little better for those. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. The price tag is worth it for the quality and comfort.

I wound up retuning this item as it was just a little too small for me. If you are looking for a high quality small bag for every day use this is a nice product. I purchased another Belroy just slightly larger to meet my needs but this is a nice bag.

I was a big fan of Bellroy, and this was my first backpack from them. I had such high hopes for it, especially at over $250. I tried to like it, but in doing so, I missed my return window, and now I’m stuck with this terrible bag forever. The straps are uncomfortable—don’t even try to wear it one-strapped, not even for a moment. The bag doesn’t balance and swings down like a purse. The material scratches easily and also makes it impossible to prop upright. They must have used CGI in the product shots because this thing likes to topple over. Storage is tight, and you can barely fit anything inside. I reached out to Bellroy directly to see if they could do anything, but they were like, “Yeah, no… sorry, sucker.” So in conclusion, stay far away from this bag. Honestly, their customer service, while friendly, has no desire to stand behind their product and make things right for the customer. This bag isn’t worth $250 or even $150… it’s not worth it even if you got it for free. That’s right—this is the worst bag in the history of bags. I realize now why their website doesn't have any reviews on this bag or most of their other products.
