My 1st grader loves this and I can tell it is helping her in more than one way! She's recognizing word quicker without having to sound them out and even her spelling is getting better. Great educational tool and fun activity for them!

My kids love the Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza card game. This game is similar to that game but with an educational twist. Basically everyone takes turn picking up a card that contains a word from the pile and putting it on the discard pile. If the word card you put down matches a letter contained in the previous card then you're supposed to quickly put your hand down on top of the pile. Whoever is last to put their hand down loses one of their 3 life cards. When they loose all 3 life cards they're out of the game. My kids are early readers so we had to tweak the game slightly. When the first card gets flipped over, we all together spell and say the word. Then we flip over the next card. Saying the letters out loud seems to help my kids remember what letters they're looking for when that next card is played. Hopefully that makes sense. Most of the word cards are fairly simple 3 - 4 letter words with pictures that match the word. I think the life cards are a little strange. They have a picture of an eagle in a tower with what looks like a dizzy motion around his head and he's saying "Every setback is a setup for a comeback!" Not a big deal just a little bit of an odd choice. Overall my kids have fun playing this game and it's good reading practice for them!

This is a really easy game to understand and learn and fun to play. It's perfect for a begining reader to reinforce word recognition. It's basically a version of Speed or other slapping card games where you match letters within words. I could imagine that you could get creative and come up with a lot of other ways to play with a simple word deck. It's quick to play as well and portable.

My son had been reading Level 1 since the first of the year, so the words on the cards are perfect.Gameplay is easy to understand, and he picked it up instantly. He's been asking to play again constantly since our first game, so it's now a staple of our school program.

My Kindergartener enjoyed playing this game. It took a moment for him to catch on but it was great once he did. The cards are thick quality and bright colored. It kept him entertained and learning for a while. If looking for a learning game for your little try this one.

Great game for my granddaughter who is having some difficulty reading. It's fun and makes her want to try harder because she wants to win!

This is fantastic for my earl reader as well as my older child who just wants to see how fast she can challenge herself with identifying. It's great for dyslexia as well.

In theory this game is fun and could help with reading, but after watching the kids play it, I just don't see it. The object is for the kids to remember the letters of the word on the prior card and then, if one of the same letters is on the next card, they slap their hands down - whoever is slowest loses a life and the last one with a life left, wins.This says it's for kids ages 6+ and so I had my 7 and 9 yo kids try it out and my younger had trouble remembering the words, and my older thought it was boring. Maybe they're just not at the right ages, or maybe they're just not the right kids for this game, but either way, this game is just not for us.
