Excellent value and worked perfectly on vintage frets
For the price, these fret pullers are hard to beat. I had no trouble removing the frets from my vintage Silvertone guitar and no heat needed. Just start at the edge of the fret and gently work your way along. The frets came out cleanly in just a few minutes. Easy, straightforward, and effective.

Work well
Just used these for a refret. They worked well with minimal fretboard chipping. I'm impressed.

made fret removal easy
Never tried to replace frets before. Loosened the truss rod on my 2004 Fender Aerodyne Strat 1/2 a turn, carefully lined up at the edge of the fretboard and squeezed, and the fret practically jumped out of the fretboard. I only replaced three frets, but they all popped right out with no chipping, no heating needed. Tool seems to be well made and big enough to allow leverage without having to strain.

Handy 'grabber' pliers
3 stars, really more like 3-1/2, as overall quality is about what you'd expect for what you paid. Usable, but nothing special. What makes them special is the shape of the jaws. or more specifically the shape of the tips of the jaws. I know they are originally meant to be pliers for repairing guitars, but they are darn useful for many other things. If you ever used long nose pliers to grab something with the tip and had them slip, these may be for you. The very ends of the jaws form little 'hooks' for grabbing/holding things. If you ever had to connect a spring onto a clip or hook you will appreciate these pliers greatly. The hook on the end of the spring will fit into the little recess behind the 'hooks' making for a very secure non-slip grip on the spring without marring or crushing it. Also works well for pulling automotive fuses. If you ever tried pulling fuses with the flimsy little plastic tool that snaps on the lid of the box, you will appreciate the improved grip of these pliers. They work great for grabbing anything with a little edge to hang on to, or any kind of wire it can pull by 'hooking' behind. This is also their biggest weakness, as it is a specialty tool, great for the sorts of things I described, but not all that good as regular needle nosed pliers. The 'hooks' are sharpened somewhat, enough to dig into plastic or softer metals to get a better grip. All in all a decent enough specialty tool.
