ThirstystoneSandstone Cinnabar Coasters

THESE ARE MADE FROM UNIQUELY COLORED & MARKED NATURAL, AND SOMEWHAT FRAGILE SANDSTONE - IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS, DO NOT BUY THESE COASTERS - GO BUY SOME PLASTIC STUFF.I've just received 12 of these, and all are beautiful & uniquely marked (I immediately ordered 4 more). The neutral beige easily goes with my (formal) beige leather furniture, as well as my (informal) dark green leather furniture (separate rooms) & multi-colored Persian rugs.They easily absorb the expected amount of drink-can or glass condensation, drying in about an hour without leaving any ring or discoloration. Undoubtedly, if you spilled red wine on them, they would probably discolor.Like the Baccarat crystal I've used to serve my guests for the past 30 years, I consider the coasters somewhat fragile but not delicate. No guest has ever broken any of my crystal, and I expect roughly the same performance from the coasters.In response to other reviews: all coasters arrived in perfect condition; none had any detectible odor; colors & markings were fairly represented on the Amazon page; while each was uniquely marked, all were roughly the same background beige.

I have tried all kinds of coasters, including the Thirstystone with printed images on them. None of them absorbed enough condensation and I ended up with waterlogged cork bottoms and pools on my tables. I was skeptical, but went with the reviews for these natural sandstone coasters. I am so pleased I did. The reviewer that said they were cheap, shed lots of sand, and had flimsy cork bottoms and would damage furniture. I strongly disagree. These are fine sandstone, with a good cork (not incredibly thick) furniture protector, and are Natural Stone. As such, they have pattern variety. If you want uniform pattern, get a different kind of coaster. I find the naturally occuring patterns beautiful and they are very absorbent; no puddles, no rings, no scratched furniture. There was a fine bit of sand on them from shipping, but I wiped them off with a sponge and they were ready to use. My opinion...great coasters and worth every cent.

I love these coasters. The colors don't look quite as rich as in the pictures, but they hold up well and are very attractive. When things get spilled on them, they're also easy to clean. Just look up cleaning sandstone coasters. They absorb liquid very well, and I've never had a glass stick to them. My only complaint is that the corners seem to chip easily with light use. That is, unless my roommate has a habit of dropping them when I'm not home.... I'll probably stick with this style of coaster from now on.4 years later: These are still going strong! After the initial chipping around the corners, they stay intact, are easy to clean, and work great for absorbing liquid. Would highly recommend!

These are wonderful! "Thirstystone" is the perfect name for them! As your drink drips condensation, the stone unnoticeably soaks it right up. There's no bleed through to the bottom. The moisture just disappears like magic! Your glass won't stick to the stone because there's no water creating tension and causing sticking of the glass to the coaster. Also, the felt on the bottom keeps your table from getting scratched. Bonus: they look pretty sleek! All-in-all, I've got to say, these are a perfect coaster all around. I would buy these as gifts for my friends without hesitation.

I bought these coasters to replace some older ones that were a plastic coated top with a cork bottom. These coasters are great. They absorb moisture from a glass and don't become slippery or stick to the bottom of the container. Their cork bottom makes them non-scratch on wood and keeps them from sliding around. Love the natural materials and the subtle variation in the stone color.

Great product that has a much finer sand grain when compared to the competitors. Definitely worth the few extra dollars.

So happy with these coasters. I recently bought some wood and marble coasters from target that were trash. Literally fell apart after a week and also did not absorb any water. So as you can imagine I was pretty unhappy. Sandstone is the way to go though! These absorb the condensation so problem and don’t leave a ring or leak out the bottom. I love the different patterns on them as well. They look great and work great!

These coasters are great. They look nice and are heavy enough to stay put. The cork bottom protects the table's surface and allows it to slide if needed. Slightly rough textured to keep your drink in place. Absorbs a small amount of condensation or drink spill. If you live in an swamp with 90 degree temps and 90% humidity you seriously can't expect anything to absorb that much condensation. Use a diaper or a maxi pad and maybe a bit of common sense.

The item came in quite sandy. I had to wash it with soap and warm water. It is much heavier than i expected and the build quality is pretty good. Been using it for the past 2 days and it does absorb the condensation from my cold drinks. It works perfectly so far.
