Very Nice Bit of Work
Liam O'Flynn here uses both his own D set and the flat Ennis set to great effect.Well worth the money.

Back to his roots
Liam O'Flynn is of course best known for his contribution to Planxty — possibly the most influential folk group of all time. Here, though, he pays tribute to his mentors, who included three of the greatest pipers of the 20th century: Leo Rowsome, Séamus Ennis and Willie Clancy. All the pieces are pipes solos, pure and simple: some played on a concert set, and some on the treasured flat set he inherited from Séamus. The jewel of the album for me is Willie Clancy's version of the wonderful seven-part jig "The Gold Ring". Liam has also recorded this with other musicians on The Piper's Call, but I prefer the uncluttered version found here.Contents:01) I'm Waiting For You/The Sailor's Cravat02) Johnny McGrevey's/Sweeping the Cobwebs Out of the Sky03) Dark Lochnagar04) The Queen of the Fairies/Callaghan's05) Cherish the Ladies06) Eddie Moloney's/Connie Connell's07) The Gold Ring08) A Stór Mo Chroí09) Paddy Taylor's/Ballingarry/Kitty of Oulart10) An tSean Bhean Bhocht/Atlantic Sounds11) The Factory Girls12) The Green Groves of Erin/Miss Thornton'sThe total time is 39'29".
