I have tried every single litter box you can find. Automated, Martha Stewart, cheap, plastic etc and so far this is been perfect! I like how big the metal scoop is the high sides have made a difference in litter scattering. I have three cats and they all like it. But the best part is that the litter of the clumps nothing sticks!

One of my cats has always occasionally peed over the side of the litter box, and I needed to find a better solution so I wasn't continuing to clean it up off the floor. This design, with the high sides, blocks the urine and still allows for easy cleaning. I scoop the box out twice every day, so the fully enclosed models were never appealing to me since you have to remove the whole hood. Not only is this keeping the pee in the box, but also the litter. My cats seem to dig around wildly for 5 minutes before they will poop, and litter used to fling everwhere. The 6 extra inches makes a huge difference. My floor has been so much cleaner, and the slotted exit ramp and mat also help catch particles off their paws. I'd say the mat is the only lower quality piece of the set. It is bowed up in the middle and moves down when the cats step on it. Also, the foam material with velcro sides is harder to clean than a silicone mat and less durable. It's working for now, but that will likely need replaced. The box is larger than a standard size you'd find at the store, which is needed if it's going to have an enclosure. The set feels very heavy duty with no flexion of the metal pan or plastic sides. At first, I thought the plastic top didn't fit flush on the metal lip, but you have to push the 2 side latches down. It is very secure now and won't come off until I release the latches to clean the box. I find that my clumping litter is easier to clean out of stainless steel than plastic because it doesn't stick to the box. The scoop is nice, but it is missing the thinner, tapered edge like my other one, which allows you to scrape along the bottom of the box better. This one has a rounded metal edge. The plastic ones also cause less scratches in the box. The high quality box and side attachment make this set worth getting, whether you use the other 2 accessories or not.

I'm really loving this litter box. When I initially saw it I loved the idea because of the habits of one of our cats. Possibly because she was a stray kitten who lost her family very early on, she never learned how to fully... cat. So she always had her quirks. One being is never quite learning how to properly pee. When she goes into the litter box, she doesn't squat, she just let's it fly. We always needed litter boxes either with a lid or of a very high backing because of it. On our plastic boxes, of course it often sticks, mixes with the litter she kicks up and eventually cakes itself on making cleaning a pain. With this box, it slides right down leaving only a slight, easily wipe-able "stain". Additionally, the grated step is a great design feature. If they don't choose to step on it first, the provided litter mat will catch a good bit more of the litter from their paws. With all these things combined, there is just simply much less mess to worry about or clean.Considering it's metal, I expected it to be way heavier than it is. But even though it's pretty lightweight, it still feels sturdy. Something I never expected is how much easier it would be to sift through the litter. I guess with metal there is less friction so the litter really slides around smoothly, creating less resistance when scooping. Even though the metal scoop that comes with it is a little bigger and bulkier than your typical plastic ones, it glides through with ease. The two areas with different shaped holes work great, too.The only thing is I have another litter box that is considered extra large so I assumed this one would be closer to how big that one is. Comparatively, I'd only call this size "Large", however it still is a nice size. It's never easy with pictures on this site because often they are photoshopped. Also, it unfortunately is a bit expensive. But you're at least getting a well made product of a type that I honestly haven't seen before and I bet will last a long time.
