They work well. Holds my plates on and they look great. The instructions are really non-existent, so just take a quiet moment, look at the pieces you have and decide how you want to install them. There does not appear to be a "right" answer. One washer behind the plate and one in front? Two washers and the lock washer in front of the plate or vice versa? However you want to do it. I put two on my back plate differently than the two on my front plate and both plates are still tightly held on the vehicle. No breakage. No paint missing. Just a lack of instructions.

Would be better if the bolt part was longer, to enable the skull part to be screwed in further, and have room to screw the back bolt on further.

Looks great on my bike.
