Suprisingly good hot sauce in easy-travel packets
I'm a hot sauce fanatic, so much so that I typically carry hot sauce when I travel for use on my eggs at breakfast in hotels and on the plane. My minimum preference is at least 30k Scoville, and I generally reach for the 100k+ range, so I wasn't certain I'd like the Tia Lupita sauce, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try it. Especially since it's getting harder to find travel-size hot sauce bottles and running up to my room to drop off my sauce isn't always ideal for my schedule. To my pleasure, I like this hot sauce a lot and will have no problem using it while traveling. Each packet holds about one teaspoon, and the flavor has a nice complexity that I don’t typically find in widely available sauces. Additionally, it's nice that there aren't any unnecessary ingredients or added sugars in this hot sauce. Each packet contains only red jalapenos, water, organic distilled vinegar, salt, garlic, oregano, black pepper, and cumin. The red jalapenos add a mild smokey quality and the cumin provides an earthen flavor and backbone that elevates the hot sauce past typical vinegar-based packet offerings. The vinegar is present here, but not as overwhelming as some can be, and while "medium" is an appropriate classification for the sauce, it offers a better kick than most medium hot sauces on the market. The packets are loose in a box, but the box is small, so it's easy to tuck it into my pantry. As a bonus, I also received 116 packets in my box rather than the 100 that were promised. My only complaint is that when I opened the box, I discovered that 38 of the packets were sticky, some so bad that they stuck together. I was able to wash them, but I wasn't anticipating having to take the time to do that. I thought one of the packets must’ve leaked, but after checking them all carefully and squeezing each one multiple times, I couldn't find a single breached packet. Likely, that means the sauce was introduced into the box in the factory, either before or during packing. While this unpleasant experience isn't enough to reduce my rating for the sauce, I wanted to mention it so others would know to check over their boxes carefully before storing them. I imagine the sticky mess would’ve turned into a spoiled mess before long if I hadn’t spotted it.

Decent hot sauce
Liked that these hot sauces come in single use packets which makes them easy to pack into lunches or carry for trips. The sauce itself is more sweet and savory and not really spicy at all so keep that in mind when purchasing. I've had to mix this with other hot sauces to get a typical spicy taste I would expect from a hot sauce

Good hot sauce
The sauce packets are well made and seems like they will hold up well. The spiciness hits mild at first but slowly builds up. I would rate this at the higher end, not high enough to be painful but plenty of heat. To me it has a more peppery flavor, with not much acidity. It kind of tastes like the hot sauce they give out at Chinese fast food places, a little different from say taco sauce or hot wings sauce. Overall pretty good.

Great hot sauce, it's not very spicy but has a nice kick to it.
Great hot sauce, it's not very spicy but has a nice kick to it. Love the individual packets, as sometimes I just need 1 or two for on the go lunch. The ingredients are very good as well, which led me to chose and try out Tia Lupita. Overall, I'm very impressed at the quality.

Well, its certainly hot
I love that these are single packets of sauce. Just toss a couple in your lunch box with your meal & you are good to go. No need for an extra container of sauce. Unfortunately, i was expecting more of a hot sauce flavor. This tastes more like a chilibean flavor. So it would be great for chilibeans or a burrito but for putting it on a chicken wrap? No. It just doesn't work. The convenience is great. The sauce tastes ok but it just wasn't what I expected. Thehotness level is fairly low on this as well. From 1-10 I would put this at a 4 at best.

Convenient
I'm the type of person that will carry hot sauce in my purse. This sauce is delicious: the right amount of heat and elevates a dish. Love carrying packets of these with me.

love these packets!
I never imagined I'd order a big box of hot sauce packets, but here we are. This is a nice hot sauce brand that I use at home, so I JUMPED to get this. I took some to work and I have some in a baggie for my cooler for this summer when we picnic more. I have started declining the hot sauce at Taco Bell in favor of using these ones when I get home. My only gripe is the packets are not very easy to open, especially if you have sensory issues, you will get sauce on your fingers unless you cut the tops off with scissors before (but who has that kind of foresight). The flavor is a cut above a Tapatico or a tabasco, easily. It is a bit thicker, in a good way. I fear by the time I finish these packets, I'll be spoiled for life.

For Latin/ Mexican food.
The Tia Lupita Hot Sauce Packets are convenient. The color is dark brown and it is not thin compared to most other hot sauces, the texture is similar to mustard.Tastewise, it is "earthy" and has a southern/Latin/Mexican element to it, it is not extremely hot, but there is a kick to it.This hot sauce seems to best pair with South American/Latin/Mexican food, so it limits its usage as compared to other hot sauces that are more savory/vinegary.
