I've purchased a few of these lately. I left my favorite one in a car I sold :(It did just show up in a bag with a little instruction book, no box (I prefer this, it doesn't need a box).I pulled out the instructions, read over them real quick and scanned the qr code to get the app. That took me to a web page telling me all about this, then gave me a link to the Google Play store for the actual app. Annnd, no app. So I manually searched the app store annnnd, still no app. OK, no app, so I decided to try this with Torque pro, on my volvo (which doesn't like these things). Well, after fiddling with linking via Bluetooth and setting torque to this device, it worked. This is the first one of these that actually worked on my Volvo. YESSSS. I'll try this on my truck and see how it works on that. I run a monitor screen and some readers can't read all the data. If this can, do that, I'll update to 5 stars.It's 4 stars now because there is no app from the seller and that's listed as a benefit. I'm not a fan of the apps that these are often advertised with and often only work with. I prefer to pick my own code reading app, like torque or many others that aren't selling the adapters. I've even, tossed a couple in the trash because they only work with a particular app.This works with torque, I'm assuming it works with other apps.I will update if it is missing any code info on my truck and score it appropriately.

While it provides some data, I can't get it to show when Regen's are happening or work with android auto. It does appear to work with Apple car play but I'm not a 16 year old girl with an iPhone so I can't confirm.

Works as expected

While I am not a noob to wireless comms and embedded devices, this one made me leary. Their app is difficult to find, and I'm not sure what rules they are breaking to have it not listed in the app stores, but it requires side loading. I tried to use it with other generic OBDII apps, and they were not able to negotiate a proper connection. Maybe mine is a dud, but the frustration is not worth it given the plethora of other BT OBDII interfaces that are available. YMMV.

The OBDII unit will not connect via bluetooth to my phone without installing their proprietary software. So I can’t use it for the special battery diagnostics I need for my Chevy Volt.Their proprietary software needs to be sideloaded onto your phone to connect to the unit. If you don’t know what sideload means, don’t buy this. Their proprietary software froze on my phone after opening. Has “poorly developed” written all over it.Not my job to debug someone else’s software. Not my job to wonder if the reason it’s not in the play store is because it’s spyware. Deleted, returned.I just want an OBD II tool. Why is that so hard?

I've used a blue driver for years daily and sometimes it just won't communicate and had bluetooth issues. I got this as a back up just looking for the basic P code scanner. I was impressed with the performance and speed with this one. The app is comparable to others and simply works. If you're looking for something simple and quick, this is a good value.
