I like it so much I bought another one!
I bought the first one from Airthings website for my bedroom and like it so much I wanted a second one for down stairs! The first night I had this I noticed I slept better and so did my wife. It's not all in our heads we have the results from our Sleep Number bed to see it. I got the first unit on March 21, 2024 and seeing the improvement in the air after cooking dinner is great! I have the Airthings View plus as well. The PM count increases upstairs depending on what we cook (even with windows open and hood fan on). I highly recommend this and the Airthings View Plus.

Nice purifier, expensive replacement filters.
I had to do a little digging to find out when replacement filters were going to be available, and how much they were going to cost. According to the Airthings website, replacement filters should be available in June of this year (2024), and will contain both the HEPA and the carbon filter, and will cost $70.And herein lies my one and only complaint with this air purifier. Their replacement filters are pretty much some of the most expensive replacement filters around. Sure, you might find 10% with more expensive filters, but 90% are cheaper, and some by a significant margin.Everything else about this purifier, I like. I like that it has a double pre-filter that can both be washed (which will at least help extend filter life a little). I LOVE how easy it is to change the filters, no tools required, everything just pops on and off...you can literally change filters in about 20 seconds (vacuuming / washing the pre-filters not included, obviously). I also love that there are a lot of options as far as mounting / location. It can lie on its side, exhaust up, exhaust to the side, OR it can be wall-mounted (!). So pretty much however you want it, except maybe ceiling mount. It's pretty quiet until you get into the upper speeds, and "boost mode" certainly makes itself known. But also wonderfully present is a genuine "sleep mode" that goes into quiet mode for 8 hours, before returning to "auto". Nice.It also has wifi / an app, which honestly I could care less about. If you like everything connected, this has all that, but you can use it without, too. Yay!In all, there is a long list of things I like, and one little irksome thing that I don't care for. I sure wish their replacement filters were a BIT more on the economical side of things. $70 ($140 a year if you replace them every 6 months) means you re-buy this air purifier every 2 years in filter costs. That's a lot to swallow, especially when the market is filled with air purifiers that you can get 3 packs of replacement filters for $35. Who knows, maybe sometime between now and June, Airthings will come to their senses and realize that they're already charging a premium price for the purifier, maybe cheaper replacement filters will help draw people in. Hint, hint. For instance, $70 for a single filter set is a lot. However, if they offered a 2-pack for that price...that would at LEAST get the replacement filters out of the stratosphere and down into reality. And how much does it REALLY cost to manufacture a replacement filter? $3? $4? I mean, come on.So my advice is, if price is no object, then by all means, this is a great air purifier. If you don't mind paying for a premium purifier but don't want to keep re-purchasing it through extravagant filter costs, then take a hard look at other purifiers in the market and make sure $70 every 6 months is in line with what you want to pay. If not, there are plenty of options on the market with much cheaper replacement filters.

Extremely Disappointing Automatic Sensors
I bought two of these Airthings Renews units, and they both do the exact same thing, so there is no defect. The "Set and Forget Auto Mode" is terrible. It just does not work as I expected and wanted and as it should work at this high price. My previous (but I still own) air cleaners with automatic air sensors works perfectly.I have been running both Airthings units 24 hours a day in different rooms for one week. Not one time did the Auto Mode with its laser sensor make these units increase the fan speed from the minimum lowest setting. After I saw the air sensor failures I put my existing air purifiers with their air sensors next to the units, and my existing air purifiers immediately detected that the air needed to be "cleaned" with the fans running at more than just at the lowest setting. And once the existing air cleaners would go back to the "all clean low setting", I still left both the prior existing different brand units and these two new units on all day to see what happens. The existing different brand-name models would occasionally detect air that should be cleaned more than at the lowest setting multiple times per day, while both of the Airthings Renew units never did, not even one time. The Auto Mode just kept the Airthings at their lowest setting which is so weak no air could be cleaned when it needs to be cleaned. If you want to use these Airthings on Automatic Mode which controls the fan speed based on what the Air Quality Sensors detect, as opposed to having to manually turn up the fans by touching the buttons on the units, I absolutely do not recommend you buy these. (I personally only want to use air purifiers that have an Automatic Mode that actually works.)The only reason I bought these Airthings is because my existing air purifiers are not as attractive looking. These Airthings do like very nice, kind of like speakers. And I like that you can wash the pre-filter behind the outside cover which needs vacuuming periodically, versus having to replace pre-filters every 30 or 60 days. But again, the air quality sensors installed in these Airthings will not detect what it should detect. Both Airthings just stay at the ineffective lowest speed 24 hours per day.I'm willing to forgive that these units do not come with a small hand-held remote control for extra convenience as the units arguably should at this expensive price point, but I'm not willing to forgive the ineffective air sensors. (Yes, your smartphone app can act as a remote control, but I think a small inexpensive hand-held remote would add extra convenience, especially with the Auto Sensors being so ineffective.)
