Been used for a while now but can't get the alarm to work. after all this time I have got the alarm to work as it should so now I'm very happy with the lock 🔐.

The lock is supposed to be able to use either with or without the alarm. You have to take the top off and turn it round so the magnet on the shackle triggers the microswitch or not.Trouble is that it will only reassemble in the no-alarm state. Also you can set the alarm off while you're fiddling and discover that it's very quiet.Hopeless. I sent it back.

The KEYD heavy duty padlock is solidly constructed, with a built in alarm which sounds if it’s tampered with (after three warning chirps). The alarm is loud (claimed 110dB - I tested with earplugs fitted!) and there is a pack of six replacement button-type batteries supplied in addition to those fitted.There’s adequate clearance around the hasp for this to be used with my heavy-duty motorcycle chain. There seemed to be a small error in the instructions regarding the orientation of the shackle to use with or without the alarm - there are two dimples (or “fillisters”) on one side. This isn’t a big issue though as the padlock emits a small chirp when the shackle is fitted and the alarm enabled. Usefully, three keys are supplied (with an unusual design) so there’s a key on both motorcycle bundles and a spare. At a penny under £17 when reviewed, this seems like a good value deterrent.

This is a very solid looking padlock, I am using it to secure a barn door.
