Every Open Eye

awesome and fun music from this Scottish band

I'm loving this album right now. I've actually been listening to both this album and Chvrches' first album for at least an hour now while writing reviews for my recent purchases. I do certainly like their first album, but I find the songs on Every Open Eye in general to be catchier than on the Bones of What You Believe--actually, catchy isn't the right word. Catchy is far too pop-oriented a word to describe why I prefer this album. I suppose what I mean is that I find more songs on this album that immediately strike a chord with me--the type of really lovable songs that have a certain word or phrase or line sung in just such a way that it hits directly somewhere in your heart or mind.And, of course, there are plenty that make me want to dance. Chvrches produces a particular variety of music that can manage both poignancy and dance-ability, and that combination is pleasing in many different moods.

Very thought out music by this trio..l really enjoyed this more than the previous release. Iian, Martin, and Lauren get better with every release. I give it "5" stars!

Fantastic second album! They still stay true to their original sound, but improve on it so much. Also, it's definitely worth getting the special edition to get "Bow Down," one of my personal favorites on the album.

Perfect for fans of alternative/indie rock.

Chvrches is one of my favorite bands now. This entire album is absolutely phenomenal. There is not one song on it that you don't immediately love.

This band is underrated! This is one of the best techno dance albums in a long time. There is some great retro stuff on this album. This is one of those every song is great albums that you just want to crank!

Fabulous. Listened to many times now since I received it.

Not as good as their debut album - seems to have lost the energy for a more refined sound. Still got a few good tracks on it though!
