*Listen Up- this is the frame you’re looking for.
I’ll just be quick-#1 - frames are expensive, so we all know you’re looking for something affordable, but also, you usually “get what you pay for”.#2- These frames are super affordable- and made in the USA. (That’s bonus points)#3- I ordered 3, 14x18 and they came quick, packed well.#4 - at first I was like.... nope. Something isn’t great about these frames- can’t put my finger on why I don’t think they feel right, but I’m going to push on and put my art prints in and see what the deal is. First, the hanger for the wall is packed sort of strangely in between the glass and the cardboard back (don’t let me lose you here) of the frame. So when I unpacked it the back was bumpy and I didn’t know what was going on. (I do not mind that I have to attack the hanger hook- no problem.) when I put my double matted print in the frame I loved the espresso color of the frame and the whole thing together (oh wait- I said I’d make this quick) - putting the cardboard back onto the frame was frustrating- till I realized it was cut a little too big and trimming off a little bit off the end made the whole thing fit together perfectly and super tidy. *Buy the frames- thank the makers - trim the cardboard back if it’s too long- it’ll be perfect.

Product does not contain a Mat. Also, not well-made.
I ordered this product because I needed to frame a 9x12 document, but didn't feel like cutting my own mat (I'm not sure if I even own a mat cutter anymore). I have ordered cheap frame/mat combos before, and found the results acceptable each time for my basic needs, so I thought this was a fine option.Though this frame/mat set was not the least expensive I have purchased, it was by far the cheapest. Literally ever aspect of this is unacceptable.FRAME:-The frame itself is poorly painted (perhaps one coat of unevenly applied black paint), and there appears to be debris stuck in the paint (dust, dirt, or sawdust, perhaps?).-There are noticeable dents in the wood on both the front and back sides. I wouldn't have minded this all that much (some might call it 'rustic') except I got a splinter from it.-One of the joins is slightly offMAT:-I could immediately tell it was a cheap mat, but I never would have assumed it would have been just a sheet of thin paper. Though they said it was a "paper mat," I erroneously assumed that it would have been a standard rag-board mat (which can also be described as "paper" -- especially when one has done printmaking/watercolor painting/etc.) with a bevel. I didn't expect it to be archival or especially high quality -- but I did expect it to be a "mat" -- since a beveled piece of thick paper is what a mat is.-In addition to not being a mat at all, the piece of paper included with this frame was so thin that the color of the backing and my image was visible through it. Seriously, what is the point?-Worse, the window in the piece of paper was poorly cut! While it's one thing to overshoot with an actual mat cutter (it's not easily discernible due to the thickness of the material), it is super obvious when it is a glorified sheet of printer paper. Awful!GLASS-They surprisingly used real glass (to their credit), but it is very thin and sharp. If you do order this product, be careful, as it is most likely easily broken.BACKING-Just a piece of cardboard, slightly thicker than the "mat" they used.OTHER-Because the mat, glass, and backing are all so thin, the frame "as is" cannot hold images that are smaller than the window via tension. While one could use tabs or mounting tape, this would be VERY obvious given how flimsy/transparent the mat is.Honestly, I wouldn't have a huge issue with this product, had they simply advertised it as a frame. Sure, it is "rustic" and poorly made, but so many frames are. For a cheap-o frame, it is simply overpriced, not deceptive. But this should not have been advertised as containing a mat. It doesn't.

The dimensions are spot on as described and this was a great addition to my office
I ordered this frame for a 12 x 16.5 print that I was able to trim down. The dimensions are spot on as described and this was a great addition to my office. For my purposes and the price point I was looking for, this is perfect. That being said, there are a few things you should be aware of if you are looking to buy this item.1. The hanger is not attached. This was not a problem for me as this is sitting on a desk at an angle. If you plan on hanging this on a wall, this could be a huge hassle/deal breaker for you.2. I've noticed that some reviewers indicated that their frame did not come with a mat- mine did, but I discarded it. It is basically a card stock paper, nothing fancy.3. The photo Amazon used looks a lot darker wood than the item that I received- see photos.4. Quality wise, this is decent. Mine had a few dings and whatnot on the back, but the front of the frame was not damaged in any way. I think that for this price point, you get what you pay for. A frame this large for under $20 should not be an artisanal craft piece, IMO.5. The backside of the frame has those little metal prongs to hold the photo in place. Not sure what they're officially called, but I included a photo. All in all, this fit my needs exactly and I would buy this again. I would recommend this, with reservations, depending on your needs.

Wouldn't purchase again, but they work.
Several issues with this frame. If they weren't so inexpensive, I would have returned. First, the color is supposed to be espresso, but it's more of a washed out walnut. Rather than a deep, rich brown, it looks like a faded walnut stain. Not attractive, but I happened to have some gel stain sitting out from a different project, so I stained them and they look much better. They are solid wood, but the joints don't align perfectly, so if you look closely, they still look cheap. The darker stain does make this less obvious. The hanging hardware is included, but not affixed. I've put hangers on many frames over the years. This wood is so hard that it was a huge hassle to get this hangers on. As it is, the nails bent going in, but the hanger is attached and no one can see the back, so it works, but it wad much more difficult than necessary. It was well packaged. I'm not using the included mattes, but they are just cut pieces of white paper, not matte board. In the end, they work, but I wouldn't but them again.

Great quality once you add a nice mat
I have several of these frames in different colors and sizes. They are the best quality SOLID wood with REAL GLASS that I could find at a reasonable price. They just need a mat added, and the hanging hardware to be attached. I bought the mats separately from Amazon. They arrive very quickly, and extremely well packaged, I had no damage to any of the 17 frames I bought. They look great around my house with mixed & matched shades and different painting styles.
