Product Description Once again, James Moody has put together an album that renders the joys of creativity, imagination, and spirit. This compilation of original tunes integrates an eclectic mix of rhythms and sounds – cool Blues, smooth Jazz, sizzling Latin, electric and acoustic – that breaks through the confines of the conventional and sends one’s musical spirit to flight. There are no dull moments in “Kite Hill”, and just as the tile suggests, this album is as spontaneous and surprising as the wind. About the Artist Since the late 1970's James Moody has worked as a "sideman" guitarist for some of the biggest names in the music business, playing live shows, concert tours, and recording dates. Since moving to Catalina Island, California, in 1990, James has worked as a full-time musician during which time he has had the opportunity to play with musicians such as Grover Washington Jr., Dave Koz, Rick Braun, Peter White and Monty Budwig. He feels extremely fortunate to be able to pursue his musical career in a place that he loves so much. On his new, original release, “Kite Hill”, James is joined by some of the top studio musicians in the world.

Guitarist James Moody does it again!
My husband and I know of James from our summer visits to Catalina Island. Don't confuse "Guitarist" James Moody with the saxophonist of the same name. This is a new and exciting artist on the Jazz scene. "Kite Hill" is a great record! I bought his first album, "Beyond the Borders", and I couldn't wait to hear his new music. James has written songs in a style that reminds me of "old school" Crusaders, Larry Carlton, and Chick Correa. (There's even a touch of Wes Montgomery in there). It's jazzy, funky, and bluesy, with a great new modern sound. The musicians on this record are fantastic. They must be top studio musicians because their names appear on other albums in my collection. It's inspiring to listen to over and over again. "Two thumbs up!"

Some of the tunes feel like a rainy day by a warm fire.Sure it's jazz but with an interesting sound all it's own. This is the first album of James Moody's original music. His Electric and acoustic guitars have a warmness to them. With all the other first class players makes this a treat ..
