Nice to hear these old songs again. Great value 3 for the priceof 1 cd package.

I also wrote a review of Vol.2, which I thought was a cleaner recording. But I would give this about four & half, they have cleaned this up a lot, compared to the original recordings of these three albums. But the deep rich bass lines that fill Vol.1 are not on this one, this is just a little weaker recording. But still it is worth having compared to the originals.

Good way to collect the back catalog.

I ordered without reading reviews. They squeeze 3 albums on to 2 cds. Unfortunately, they do not play on all of my cd players for some reason. I'm not sure if there is any type of compression involved but in the future I will pay a little extra and get the original version of the cd. CDs are so cheap nowadays why couldn't they use three discs?

The easely of Charlie Daniels and company to do all kind of musical styles, Southern Rock, Boogie, Honky Tonk, Funky (Sometimes) and many more musical styles with the nexus of Country as the main line, is something amazing.Of course, all this can be heard in this first trilogy that contains their albums from 74 to 76 (Fire On The Mountain / Nightrider / High Lonesome) You can enjoy 3 terrific albums full of music which reminds Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Allman Bros ... etc but with the own sound of one of the best bands in the South of the United States.The product is a Jewel case with 2 CDs containing three albums. The booklet, has a worriying lack of information. I think in that sense, Charlie Daniels deserved a better edition of his albums, but in any case, it's a Double CD that you must achieve if you like Country Rock and similar sounds.

What can I say about Charlie Daniels - it has already been said many before. The man has been at the top longer than I have been alive!. He is a superb musician and multiple in his talents at them. What this album gives you is actually 3 albums for the very giveaway price of 1. Its the early albums so its a real musical mixture and there are some musician changes within it as well as a couple of tracks where Charlie actually hands the vocals to another of the band (it is a band after all not just CD himself!) Its a feel good and very chirpy album that lifts even if you start the day down. Its also I think probably now the only way to get the earlier stuff on CD (correct me if I am wrong on that) and its nice to have in the collection especially if you enjoy fun songs that make you feel pretty good. Yes I do like this.

Comprising the albums Fire on the mountain, Nightrider and High lonesome, these three albums were not quite consecutive releases, because Saddle tramp was released between Nightrider and High lonesome. I haven't heard Saddle tramp, but it is available on its own.The albums featured here provide a typical Charlie Daniels Band blend of rock, blues and country with the emphasis on rock. There are no massive hits here, but The South's gonna do it again (a great name-dropping song that lists most of the Southern rockers of the era, maybe all of them) made the American top 30.Of the other tracks, I particularly like Long haired country boy, Damn good cowboy, Carolina (I remember you) and Tennessee, but there's a lot of great music here from start to finish.

Ces 3 albums étaient devenus introuvables. On a oublié cette musique que l'on appelle le Southern Rock et que plus personne sauf certains nostalgiques comme moi continuent a apprécier Le CDB est un des meilleurs représentant de ce courant et nous avons la un bon échantillon.
