Easy to Install
This was a easy and quick replacement. I like the fact that you can replace the batteries in wall unit without removing it from the wall. The remote works great. I have a picture in front of the wall unit and the signal goes through it and starts the fireplace. Fireplaces fires right up.

Very easy to install, less than 5 minutes. Works great.

Installed in ten minutes!
Installed batteries, hooked up two connectors to valve control, programed remote to control box, and Heatilator fireplace now turns on and off with remote. This unit from Heatilator was over $100.

Replacement Works Great (1st one didn't)
UPDATE: Requested a replacement and it arrived the next day. Works like a charm! Can't beat the price. Changed from one star to five.Original comment: Purchased for my Buck Stove insert to replace older version. This one will not "learn" nor, as it is, turn on the fireplace. Tried several sets of new batteries--no improvement. None of the switch positions do anything. We return for a replacement and try again. Will provide update.

My Sky Tech quit working. This one much cheaper and yet better quality. Simple to replace.

Fireplace remote for the win
The media could not be loaded. I had wanted for a year to get a remote for the fireplace. We live in NC where we don’t have a true “furnace” we have heat pumps. So it’s not nearly as efficient when temps are low. Our gas fireplace is not encased in glass just screens - it’s considered emergency heat. I use the fireplace so much throughout the day - since there is no glass it heats up fast. So I turn the fireplace on and off quite a bit. I’m not lazy but I wanted a remote 😂. Did my research, ordered this one and it sat for a bit, hubs had been super busy at work so I decided to tackle it myself. I am independent but not the most mechanically inclined. I had to take all the logs out - please do yourself a favor like I did and take a picture before & during. Each log I took out, I took a pic and placed them in order on the floor. I had to get behind and under to hook up the connections. Honestly even if the hubs was doing this he would have needed my little hands. I guess some fireplace wiring harnesses are easier to access than others - regardless I did it! I over analyzed and watched videos before doing this. Including all my over-thinking, taking out logs, cleaning, installing the unit, and replacing the logs it only took me about 30 minutes. If I can do it anyone can
