Straight-forward, Easy-to-Understand, Game Changer for Anyone!!
”Make It Rain” is a definite game changer for anyone interested in developing their brand while using the media to strengthen it. Ms Areva Martin, the author, ties these areas together so eloquently and causes the reader to realize their limitless potential. Ms. Martin just doesn’t give the reader information to process for themselves, she helps the reader overcome their doubts and she speaks with passion as though she wants ALL readers to be as successful as humanly possible. She tells you her story, breaks down her ”successes and challenges” then, she shows you step-by-step how to “Make It Rain.” This book is an ABSOLUTE must have course in media branding.I became familiar with Ms Areva Martin while watching the Dr Drew Show on HLN. Her passion for the topics literally jumped right out of the TV. As I watched her on various shows I immediately became aware of her legal knowledge and research on every subject. Regardless of the topic or its sensitivity, Ms Martin’s talking points were always well researched and presented as a ”oh, by the way.....and here is why..” moment which I'm sure caused viewers to KNOW, ”She can hold her own with other experts and her delivery is always awesome.” The real winner for me was that she stayed consistent on her topics on all shows. My first thought was, ”Who is she? & Where has she been hiding?” As a former Department of Defense US Army EEO Officer, I can easily relate to her conviction for such stories as the Trayvon Martin shooting and riots in Ferguson, Missouri. Lastly, I want to simply say thank you to Ms Areva Martin for sharing her success and passion in ”Make It Rain”.

Come correct with your brand!
I cannot fully express in words how perfect the timing is for me to have acquired this excellent book. I am literally launching my own brand this week and after reading Make It Rain, I feel much more confident that my brand and marketing will reach a broader audience. Although, I have many creative ventures, which I might have otherwise launched simultaneously, Areva Martin's advice to be concise and stick to one main focus for my brand saved me from making a detrimental mistake. Make It Rain emphasizes the use of a variety of mainstream social media websites, and until now I was only focused on two of them, now I feel more prepared to reach broader audiences by upping my exposure to more of the major sites. I also love how Areva Martin describes the importance of being authentic in one's presentation as this is how your supporters will consistently expect to see you when you appear in the public eye. Learning that, having an opinion and discussing it is more important than an advertisement of my brand is a priceless bit of info that Make It Rain offered me. I don't want to give all the gems away that this book has to offer, because everyone needs to pick up a copy for themselves. I have highlighted and taken notes and will certainly read this book many times over, and it will be my business bible as I venture forth in becoming a rainmaker. Worth it only if you are determined to get onto a national TV program.
This is a review of the book, and quite separate from a more recent incident on which some reviewers are focusing. I was deeply disappointed in Make it Rain, which I read and formed an opinion on before learning anything about the above incident.Obviously, if one can get one's business before the audience of a national network television show it is going to be a great boost. Therefore, IF that is your serious goal then by all means buy this book. It will no doubt be very helpful even if only for all the names and connections who are mentioned on almost every page. There are quite a few hints that could be helpful in that case. However, before buying it I had understood that it was written for all business people, including entrepreneurs and small businesses owned by people who are unlikely to ever get onto one of the big programs. In fact nearly all of the book concerns just that, national network TV, with numerous examples of all the famous media people that the author knows and how she connected with them.. Yes, there are a few comments about how similar techniques might work for local TV as well, but clearly that is just an afterthought. Most of the social media that smaller businesses depend on were just barely covered, if at all, before she heads back to the topic of her famous friends and TV appearances with them.It may all work for you if you are young and potentially glamorous, but if you don't see yourself on the likes of Oprah, Good Morning America, or some other nationally broadcast program, this is probably not the most useful book you could read.When I am finished with a book and don't want to keep it I usually donate it to a local networking organization's library. I will probably do that with this one as it is not worth the space on my bookshelves, but I'm not sure that this one is even worth that organization's storage space.
