Low-footprint storage for multiple rifles
This was easy to install in my bedroom closet. It protrudes 2” from the wall but for that, it is hardly noticeable; I feel like I didn’t really have to give up any space in the closet, and my wife and I both appreciate the clean look. The steel is a nice thick gauge and the multiple latching points make it feel very secure. Won’t keep out a determined attacker with an angle grinder for long, but that’s not what I’m protecting against. It will absolutely keep my kids out. The simplex lock is easy and quick to use but very secure, and I consider it a huge plus that it doesn’t rely on batteries. I bought the accessory shelf for it, and I’m storing a Ruger 10-22, a Ruger PCC, and ammo and magazines for both with no problem. It could easily accommodate a third rifle or shotgun with ammo. It arrived well-packaged with no shipping damage, which is a relief for something this large and heavy.

Unobtrusive
This is the in-wall answer I was looking for. CA-DOJ approved was a must just for any unfortunate future event. The security is just enough to keep prying eyes and hands at bay. My perimeter is very secure and I have two dogs running the yards. Typical thieves don't just wander in casually and then spend an hour or two searching every nook or cranny nor do they bring power tools to make a lot of noise cutting metal and banging around. I have helped move my friend's gun safes when they are small and light enough but generally it takes special equipment for the larger ones and once they are set down, that's it! If you feel Fort Knox or a battle tank is the only "real" security for your firearms, then so be it for you. My real world "proves" otherwise. There are lots of ways to make this security cabinet disappear in plain sight. Adding a top shelf with straps attached to it will support hanging rifles butt-up and can gain one or two more rifles stored. With my two breakdown rifles, I could "just fit" 6 or 7 with two hung. Tight but safe!!

Easy install and finish
The safe came well packaged and good condition (unlike one I ordered online from Walmart). This was easy install and with the additional accessories we ordered, an organized way to secure what we needed to.
