Best Detergent Out There — Smells Great and Cleans Even Better
As someone who supports American products even while living in the U.K., I’ve got to say Tide Hygienic Clean is easily the best detergent I’ve ever used. It gets clothes genuinely clean, leaves them smelling fresh, and feels like proper American quality. It is on the pricey side, but if the cost came down a bit, it’d be perfect. Still, worth every wash — nothing else comes close.

It's good and smells nice. Definitely think it it clearing build up of other products on bedding, towels and clothes.

Best washing detergent
I love Tide. I used it when travelling through America and was super impressed with the scent and quality of the clean. It’s more expensive, but my washing machine has exi-dispense so it’s still fairly economical for me.

Great product
I have used Tide for many years. It has always been a very reliable laundry detergent I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking about trying it. You won't be disappointed.

Best detergent I’ve ever used – and the scent is perfect
Tide Ultra Hygienic Clean is genuinely the best laundry detergent I’ve tried. It cleans incredibly well, especially bedding and clothes that build up body oils, but what really surprised me is the smell. It smells so clean and fresh, not floral, not synthetic, and not overpowering. There’s no heavy perfume cloud or headache-inducing fragrance — just a proper “fresh laundry” scent that makes clothes smell genuinely clean. It’s subtle but noticeable, and miles better than anything currently available in the UK, which all seem to rely on harsh or overly perfumed fragrances. Clothes and sheets come out feeling lighter, fresher, and actually clean rather than coated. The scent lingers nicely without being too much, and it works perfectly on its own without needing fabric softener. Once you try this, it’s very hard to go back to UK detergents. Highly recommend.

Cleaned well, I was disappointed by the lack of any fragrance for the price.

Highly recommend. I have some comfortable performance type dress shirts. Polyester clothes can hold a smell over time so I bought a different brand that was designed to get the smell out of polyester clothes before trying this. The other brand smelled awful. It was so bad. It stunk up my house & smelled like mildew. Did more digging & thankfully landed on this. I rewashed the clothes I’d washed with the other brand with this & thank goodness it got the smell out from the other brand. Works great, it’s my new go to.

If you find this helpful please click the helpful button below :) I agree with the original review reposted below. I have actually tried persil and I do not prefer its scent and for some reason whenever I use it, one of my family member’s allergies acts up. I have been using Tide for decades and have tried just about every other brand out there.. I average a 3 load weekend which is when we do the laundry. And everything from whites to colors to delicate fabrics retain their bright colors and there is no damage to delicates. Tide is the clear winner based on value and performance for value.. For whatever reason, nothing beats Tide and the Tide stain remover stick for stains. I thin they use some enzyme formula that really seams to work! I don’t use the powder or PODS as a couple times they only partially dissolved and the powder seems to gunk up my washer lint filter. The liquid is the best for me! I also like the spout as it is dribble proof. Possible modifications: . Change out the design of the container..to fun seasonal colors. ORIGINAL REVIEW Updated review November 19, 2003: The ONLY detergent that gets out tough stains better than this stuff is Persil. And the difference is very very very small. So small I miight even be just umagining there is a difference when there is none really. I have seen a study that said Persil is 2% better so, I might be influenced by that study. Tide is the clear winner based on value and performance for value.. Original July 29 review: The container I received is about 3/4 full. OK, so I've used Tide PODS for a long time and I admit this is the first time I've ever bought the liquid jug. So, maybe the jug is supposed to come 3/4 full. But if that is so, it's a waste of plastic, since its not like a powdered product which "settles" during shipping. . I average 4.5 loads a week. So, this Tide should last me somewhere between 8 to 16 weeks. Again, I am keeping a log. I will come back and update this message when the container is finished. For Sensitive Skin: 5 I've never had a problem with Tide, nor has anybody I've ever known.

It just works. It's not the cheapest, it's not trendy, but between an overall level of clumsiness, poor eyesight, and ADHD, the truth is that my laundry doesn't get pre-treated for stains. I try. When I remember, and I'm not overwhelmed and in a terrible rush, but those things all come together very rarely at my house. So it's hot water and Tide for all but my most delicate of delicates.
