Love thebnew premium Hypath 2-in-1 luggage
I own the older version of the 2-in-1 Hypath luggage set. We bought it to avoid checking our luggage on a 2 week trip to the Phillipines where we would be island hopping and also didn't want to be bogged down with a lot of heavy luggage. My husband chose to buy a big duffle bag for the trip and regretted not buying the Hypath when it arrived. He had a major case of luggage envy. The Hypath travelled well in the various size planes fitting easily in the overhead bins of even the smallest planes. We fell in love with this luggage set for it's versality, size, and strength and have used it to travel throughout the United States and internationally since that first trip. We have had no issues with our set except for the pet peeves seen in old reviews. Since we like Hypath so much we tried to order a 2nd set but it has been unavailable for such a long time that we had almost given up on getting a 2nd set until we were notified recently that a new version had been released . We immediately ordered it and received it today. Upon inspection we also like the various upgrades that have been made to the new Hypath version that has increased the quality tenfold. We like the heavier waterproof fabric (although we like the pattern of the old version better), stronger zippers, added pockets on the inside and the handle underneath that is fabric on the older version. The wheels are now larger so it has a sturdier feel when the carryon is being pulled. The handle can be pulled up in various heights which is very helpful and it feels stronger than the old handle. While it does cost more that we previously paid it feels like the price difference is warranted and fair, based on the enhanced quality of the new version. The only miss I think Hypath made was not improving the wheel system by designing and installing 4 free spinning wheels like most modern luggage which would give the carryon better mobility over different types of terrain and overall flexibility in moving it through the airport. Also it would be nice if wheels and a pull handle were added to the backpack for greater versality because there are times when that would be useful. Sometimes when I pull the old version long distances I get tired pulling the carryon. It can be pulled with the carryon sitting straight on smooth surfaces such as in the airports, but it would be way easier if the wheels are made to spin freely. It's not bad the way it is but it would be better. So we've decided that when Hypath finally wakes up and adds this wheel improvement we will give our current sets to our grandkids and treat ourselves to what will then become the best luggage on the market for us, the Hypath 2-in-1 carryon and backpack combo.

Perfect set for traveling with only carry on.
I travel frequently for both business and pleasure. I have over 4 million lifetime air travel miles. I try to avoid checking luggage whenever possible. In the rare case I need to check a bag for a longer trip I still try to carry on everything I need for the first few days. I have had too many trips where luggage was delayed and didn't catch up with me for many days. I have tried every sort of luggage combo over the years. A few years ago I found the Hypath set and liked the design. It worked very well for me. The design is excellent and very well thought out with a good selection of pockets and dividers that allow for effective space utilization and maximum capacity. I like that it can be zipped together and becomes one single bag so that in the rare cases that it needs to checked it can count as a single bag instead of two.I use the small backpack essentially as a briefcase for my laptop, phone, extra batteries, documents, etc. The larger roller bag holds everything I need for a typical trip of up to a week or two. This set up has worked really well for me, but after many trips It started to show some wear and tear. There were issues with the handle, zippers, and some rips in the fabric from the few times I checked the roller bag. I was wondering what to do when I got notified that a new deluxe model was coming out. I was very excited to see that all of the areas that were problematic had been upgraded as well as some other nice improvements. The new set has all of the good features of the original but all of the problem areas have been addressed. The retractable handle on the roller bag, which was the biggest issue (on the original Hypath and many other pieces of luggage I have owned) is redesigned and really beefed up. The zippers, fabric and the wheels appear to be of much higher quality. I don't think you can get higher quality, even at double the price.I am excited to take this set out on the road and put it to the test over the next few months. I will update this if my expectations are not met but I don't think it is likely.

Perfect design for the light weight fast moving traveller.
If you liked the first set from 2020, you will love the new set just being released in 2024. There wasn't much room for improvement, but somehow they figured out how to enhance features that I would not have thought to ask for after 50 years of travel. Soft luggage is the ONLY way to travel. There are so many different shapes and sizes of storage lockers; you must be adaptable and flexible if you don't want to drag your luggage everywhere. Being able to carry your standard sized luggage onto the aircraft saves time and hassle. The reinforced seams are a real plus. Double stitching simply isn't enough when you cram everything you can into your luggage; because it takes a beating. The waterproof vipers would have been nice on my old set in 2022 in Portugal during the rainy season. The zipper locks are more sturdy than those found on more expensive luggage. When combining the two packs together, the additional stability straps are nice and the little pockets for hiding unused features are a nice attention to detail. The only fault I had found on my old set was very nicely corrected on the new set with a sturdy retractable handle. I love to stack the two packs with the smaller one slipping over the handles. It makes a well balanced load that is long enough to trail nicely behind. Of course, if you get into some rough or uneven terrain you can always slip it off and strap it on your shoulders front or back. I have been wearing combination front and back packs for five decades, but none of my mismatched combos had the versatility of the HyPath system. I wholeheartedly recommend this system to the adventure traveler. And if you easy steppers want something nice and sturdy, it will work for you too! Ken the Economancer
