I took 3 hours to cool down sufficiently to repackage and send back
As soon as I switched it on smoke came out of the top inch of the iron,setting the fire alarm off but worrying not immediately tripping the fuse, and yes Unhad read the instructions beforehand and removed all packaging. Also although the iron was on for no more than a minute it was exceptionally hot. I took 3 hours to cool down sufficiently to repackage and send back. DO NOT BUY. plus the lead us too short.My last Rowenta last 11years hence I really wanted another. However I will not be buying another you have to be right on top of the plug socket in order to use it. My old iron had a 2.5 metre cable and that’s what my replacement will now have to have.The lead length was not mentioned on the description so I took a chance on it being ok despite other Rowenta irons reviews mentioning it as an issue. Obviously this must be a design issue with all Rowenta irons.
