Worked flawlessly
Had a new roof put on my garage, and in the process my cable got ruined (my fault) during the process. My security camera had a 150 ft run to this camera and I didn't want to go through the process of replacing the whole thing. Never doing this before, I replaced the section along the garage after watching a youtube video on how to do it and buying this. This tool worked flawlessly and appears to be well-built. Also was able to test the cable with the provided tester. Glad I spent a little extra money and got this, because if needed again I'm confident in this.

Everything you need to hardwire your home LAN (minus the cable)
I just moved to a new house last year and have been running my whole network for internet on WiFi. I wanted to home run some cables from my router to my PC's and consoles. This kit comes with everything I needed except for the CAT6 cable. So, before going and purchasing all the cable needed, I decided to give this crimper a try on some shorter run pieces that I have from my previous house.First off, this crimper is a smaller form factor than what I'm used to using. This is not a bad thing. The crimper has a sheath stripper incorporated in it that works great. No intrusion into the wire coating while removing the outer sheath. Next, the kit comes with 100 each of the RJ45 male plugs as well as strain relief boots. The RJ45 plugs are pass-through design and I like that for ease of assembly. You only need to get your wires straightened out and laid in the correct color format, pass them into the connector in the correct orientation and then insert the connector with the wires into the crimper. The crimper will crimp the plug as well as cut the excess wire flush with the end. If you don't have pass-through RJ45's, there is also a cutter that will let you trim all the wires flush at the length you need to fit your connector.Once crimped, the connector is on there really snuggly and would take some excessive force to pull the connector from the cable.Included with the kit is a very basic cable tester. I works great to make sure that all of your wires are making contact (continuity test) and helps to let you know if the ends are the same and not cross wired or anything. The kit also comes with a separate cable sheath stripper/punch down tool. The stripper works but takes some getting used to for knowing how hard to push the cable into it so that you don't cut into your wires. The punch down portion of the tool works perfectly. The whole kit comes with a nice zipper bag to hold the tool and all your connectors/boots as well as a few other tools that you might want to incorporate in with the kit.Overall, this crimper worked flawlessly with the 10 different short cables that I made and I'm sure it will work just fine for my final project. Highly recommend.

Surprisingly Good
My experience with cheaper offbrand rj45 crimpers has not been good in the past. That made it quite surprising when this one worked so well. I mean overall it just works. Cutoff works well, and so does the built in cutter and sheath cutter. Overall love the tool itself. The problems are just everything else included. These cheapo cable testers are always inconsistent and questionable, and these are some of the worst rj45 ends I've ever used.As a whole a decent value for the price, and the crimper itself works great.

Very Complete Kit with a Compact Crimping Tool
I have worked in IT for many years and used many different crimping tools. The first thing that I noticed about this one is its small size. The second is that it is heavy for its size and feels solid in my hand. I have a preference for pass-through crimping tools like this one. You strip the wire a bit long and then feed it all the way through the connector and then crimp the connector and cut the wires to length. This process avoids three of the common pitfalls that occur when attaching connectors. Either you don't get the wire far enough into the connector, you get a stray single strand from a bad strip job shorting an adjacent wire, or you get two wires swapped because the twist makes it hard to keep the straight. All of these are avoided with this crimping tool as you see all the wires and can check their condition and order before crimping. Additionally, it provides the ability to crimp the shield on a shielded connector. There are several extra things in this set that round it out nicely. While the crimping tool will cut the cable to length, there is a separate tool provide to conveniently strip the outer jacket. Once you have a cable constructed, you can test it with the provided cable tester. It has a detachable remote and you can use it to verify cable in-wall as well as simple patch cables where you have both ends in hand. It also includes a nice starter supply of RJ45 connectors and matching strain-relief boots. The included storage bag is roughly the size of a typical business banking bag and holds all the pieces well. Both the crimping tool and the cable tester include reference cards for standard wire order. If I were to suggest an improvement to this it would be to provide that information on a more durable plastic card that will stand up to field use longer-term.About the only things missing are a 9V battery for the tester and a supply of cable.
