Tru-View New 7.5" Water Level View Spigot for Travel & Big BERKEY, Alexapure Pro, ProPur (7.5" Spigot)

I don't see how to use the Berkey without the sight glass. It came several days after the Berkey was set up. I read several reviews about installing it and many used the original washers instead of the supplied ones. I tried using the supplied ones - leaked. Tried tightening it - leaked. Third try was to start over and reverse the washers, thin one inside and fat one outside and over offset valve after hand tightening the inner nut. Instead of 1/4 turn I went to about 1/2 turn to straighten it up with the body. Ta-da. Works like a champ. Still possible to over fill upper chamber but less likely. Got it all setup and tested a few days before Christmas and used it for several days with no problems. Then the test. My son and two grand-kids were here and used it for several days. Test pasted. Maybe a little pricey but worth it. Recommend!

It was easy to install, just like installing the original. Looks high end! I love being able to see the water level, I marked the level where I do not want any more water added with a red dot using a permanent marker, for some reason that dot makes it easier to find the water level as your eye focuses on it and you immediately see the line of water. I also like it because it indicates when the water is filtering slowly, if you fill it and you come back an hour or two later and it is barely filled, time to clean the filters off and blow out the gunk. It would be nice to have a floaty ball in it for easier level determination. I am very happy with this!

I am pleased with the Tru-view water level view spigot. The 7.5 inch is the perfect size for the Alexapure. It also has a larger spigot so water drains out faster. I had no problem installing it and it works well.

This item is so great and handy. I love being able to see how much water is in it so I don't have to lift the top part of the Berkey anymore. If the seal leaks at all tightening is very simple and effective. Love this item!

I have the Alexa Pure system that is pretty much the same as a Berkey. This spigot works fine though it did leak initially. Two things I did to stop it. First, use Teflon tape on the threads. I put about 3-4 wraps on. Second, use a 7/8" socket" on it (or open end/box end wrench) tighten the nut. You can do it with a crescent but is awkward. I also tightened it quite snug.As a suggestion you might try replacing the supplied washer with a softer silicon set for better sealing. The Alexa Pure system had these and never leaked in 4 years. I also didn't need to crank the nut as tight nor was Teflon tape necessary. I stuck with the provided washers as I didn't want to take a trip to Ace. If it develops a leak I will.As for showing water level, it appears to be pretty accurateI give it 4 stars based on the washer and nut design. The Alexa Pure has a plastic nut with wings on it so combined with the softer washers no Teflon tape or tools were needed for a water tight seal.

I couldn't seem to catch this in stock in the right size at Berkey Reseller sites, so I finally thought to check here. I wish i'd done so sooner! It's cheaper here, and the product looks the same.It's very sturdy, and the glass tube is pretty thick. I read other reviews, so I knew to use the washers that came with the unit, and not the ones that came with this. Easy, peasy!An unexpected bonus is that it is much larger than the spigot that comes with the Berkey. My partner and I filter our water nightly, and fill gallon glass jugs for the following day. It took *forever* to fill up our jugs each night! This larger spigot takes half the time, and we're off to doing something else.My only recommendation is that they should add a little floaty bright-colored plastic ball to the tube, to make it easier to view the water level from afar.

Using this with our Berkey. After seeing other reviews and followed the advise to use the Berkey washers when installing and it worked very well-no leaks. I'm happy with it but do have a recommendation to the manufacturer; place a black floater in the tube so the water lever is easier to see.
