The frame rail of my 1-ton truck is only 9-1/2" above the ground. This slips under behind front wheel and has enough lift to get the tire off the ground. For the rear, I just put it under the spring pack behind the front spring hanger. As with almost every jack I have ever used, the capacity rating is for a gorilla on the end of the handle. I'm not getting any younger. So, the 8-ton model works good for lifting about 2 tons (i.e., each corner of the truck) without having to strain much. Obviously, takes a few more strokes than a lesser-capacity jack. The laws of fluid physics apply to EVERY jack, so that is to be expected. Nice product!

This jack works perfectly. All the complaints I see are as a consequence of not having read all the literature in the box. I lifted the front of my RV and let it be for two days. It did not drop at all.

The package had oil spill on it, the bottle leaked, but it had enough oil to go all the way UP. The central cylinder would not go down on its own, but it was not that hard to press in. The problem came on attempting to get the outer cylinder to move - it would not. After persuading it with my full body weight, it final budged and reluctantly slow pressed in. Rinse and repeat? Same result!!! It is totally not realistic to use it like that - it goes back to Amazon 15 minutes after arrival.

Take your measurements. make sure the jack can fit under your vehicle and can extend high enough to lift your vehicle. Travelling with wood blocks is also a good idea for soft surface

I purchased this bottle Jack for emergencies with our fifth wheel. The wedge style would not work with the type of suspension we had I used this bottle jack to place under the spring perch and with the dual ram set up it goes low enough to fit under the perch yet will lift the axle high enough to remove the wheel. My fifth wheel is rated at 18,000 pounds and this lifted the wheel with so little effort you could almost do it by just putting your finger in the Jack port to pump the jack.

I used the jacks to raise my brick and cement front porch. Buried in the concrete and time will tell. Raised porch with no issue. Nice compact size.

this jack is very very limited in height -- ok for a press but limits lift
