I've been looking for a book like this.
I have noodled with guitar for years, learning stuff by rote. But recently, I decided to get more serious and learn some theory so that I could begin to understand the concepts behind chord melody, rather than simply memorizing without understanding what I was playing. So, now I have a basic grasp of how chords are constructed, i.e., I understand that they are made up of intervals, but I am just beginning the journey toward seeing those intervals on the fretboard. I'm just getting started with this book, but it's already clear to me that it is a very efficient way to learn how to approach chord melody, both writing and playing. It's very accessible, but not simplistic. I'm confident that this book will help me in this exploration. I highly recommend getting the bonus material (videos, files) and the companion book, The Melodic Jazz Guitar Chord Dictionary.

Great source for all melodic guitar lovers
Tim is one of the most melodious guitarists among those currently alive. It's a great fact for all of us that he shares his experience and guitar experience with us via video courses and, nowadays, books. Just for me books are easier to implement information on my practice and add some ideas and phrases to my vocabulary. I unsuccessfully tried several times to get private lesson with Tim, so books and videos - are my way to use some of Tim ideas is my playing. The whole book is very practical and not hard to understand as some jazz guitar books that could be unbearable if you are not prepared in music theory.I hope that my review helps guitarvivo guys to sell more of these books and continue with new sources of Tim's guitar wisdom

True knowledge and applicable material
It was through Tim that I was finally able to understand Ted Greene’s chord grids and way of thinking harmony for guitar. Tim is a wonderful man and amazing instructor, let alone an incredible player. Tim thank you so much for this one. This book is more player friendly than his previous one that seemed more like a formula based concept book. I do own both, and both books are great for what they are, it is up to you where and how far you take it. Tim has multiple videos explaining the concepts behind his books. Beautiful guitar book for sure. Get it.

A great book and a great teacher
Lots of great material covered in this book. Gives you a lot of tools to help improve our melodic knowledge and chord construction all over the neck. Tim's videos are also great and really help with simplifying and explaining the concepts. Highly recommended!

No link to 90 minute video
Unfortunately. The link to the 90 minute video course associated with this book it's not attainable. I'm trying to access the site. There was a 404 error. Other than that it looks like a great book to learn from.

Great book for learning comping and melodic voicings
Probably one of the best books that I have ever read on chord voicing and comping besides the Barry Galbraith etudes.

Worth every penny, and so much more…
Tim Lerch is a world-class musician and an outstanding teacher. His playing is sublime, and he has a rare ability to analyze complex subject matter and convey his wisdom in a manner that makes these concepts more intelligible/digestible. I have been working with the books for a few weeks, and I love the subject material. The accompanying videos and master classes that can be accessed through the links provided in the book make this a deal too good to pass up. Tim’s other book, “The Melodic Jazz Guitar Chord Dictionary” is well worth investigating, as are all of his TrueFire video courses. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to take their guitar playing and musical knowledge/understanding to much higher levels.

Great book on chord construction and movement
I bought this and the follow up book. The author has a completely unique way of explaining jazz, uses symbols as moves to a chord instead of tablature, (tablature where required).I'm really enjoying this course and it makes a lot of sense, more in part to the way the author has written it and explains it. The book has every example in audio format and also video. I have another book on blues fro this company, again similar format and worth every penny.I would totally recommend this book for anyone thinking of learning jazz.
