I recently got this Bob Ross-themed hat and it's honestly one of the best things I've picked up recently. As someone who's always been a fan of Bob Ross and his calming painting shows, this hat is a delightful nod to those memories. The first thing I noticed about it is how warm it is. It fits my head just right, covering my ears and keeping them snug from the chilly winds. I've got a larger head, but the hat stretches comfortably without feeling tight. It's got this really soft lining that feels smooth against my skin, which I appreciate during these brisk fall days. The design is pretty neat too. It's got this eye-catching brown color with green lettering that somehow manages to stay vibrant even after a wash. And the pom-pom on top? It stayed fluffy even after washing – I just make sure not to throw it in the dryer. But more than just being a warm and comfy hat, it brings back those cozy, childhood memories of watching Bob Ross on TV, teaching us about painting and life in the most soothing way. The quality of the hat is top-notch, especially the embroidery, which is done really well. It's not just a hat for me; it's like a piece of nostalgia that I can wear. I'm already thinking of getting a few more as gifts for friends and family who grew up watching Bob Ross. It's not just a warm hat; it's a warm reminder of simpler, happy times.

Some of my warmest childhood memories are of watching “The Joy of Painting” when I was home on summer vacation. I was absolutely fascinated at how easily he could make an entire world appear on a canvas, and I’m pretty sure I would never have started painting if it wasn’t for him. This hat struck me as a nice way to literally keep those good memories on the top of my mind. The hat itself is a tad small, but stretches nicely. I have to say I expected the material to be a bit softer at this price, but it’s still fairly comfortable. The two-tone brown design is a bit blah to me, especially when Bob Ross was so well-known for his use of colour, but the “Happy Little Trees” logo saves it. I just wish it had a little more artistry to it. At $25 this is pretty pricey, and I honestly think my $4 Dollarama toque looks and feels better than this one. Of course, we all know it’s not about the hat as much as it’s about the brand. You could get a hat just as nice for far less, but it’s hard not to love seeing the “Bob Ross” signature tag on the side. We’re not buying this for hat, we're buying it for the happy afternoon memories of the children we were; watching Bob beat the devil out of a brush while, as if by magic, he turned an empty canvas into art. Holding on to those things is priceless. My rating: 3.75 stars
