Surprisingly funny, better than BIG?
I watched this recently as Im a major fan of 80s movies and I was surprised to find that this movie had me laughing out loud at quite a few scenes (which is rare these days! Gotta love the 80s!). I always remembered this film being compared with and largely inferior to the other 80s hit 'BIG' given the similar subject matters. But I have to say although BIG is probly superior overall as a movie, I really cant remember laughing that much at BIG. Whereas Vice Versa genuinely had me laughing throughout most of the movie. Both Savage and Reinhold play the roles to perfection especially Savage. Of course theres some 80s cheese here, but thats as standard in most and its bearable.I highly recommend a purchase.

Vice Versa
Wow! This takes me back. There have been a lot of body swap comedies since Disney released Freaky Friday, the biggest hit was the Tom Hanks film Big but Vice Versa was less slushy and more of a comedy in my opinion. Judge Reinhold switches perfectly into a big kid and Fred Savage does a brilliant turn as a straight man(boy)The amazing thing is that this film was written and produced by Dick Clement & Ian La Frenais, the people responsible for the Ronnie Barker comedy, Porridge. If you are looking into building a collection of 80's movies on dvd, this should be on the list along with the films of John Hughes.

Great movie :)
If, like me, you are a fan of this movie, hen get this DVD - you won't be disappointed! I love Judge Reinhold and Fred Savage in this - they play the parts so well, and Marshall and Charlie have a beautiful father-son bond :) Here it is on DVD, with all the bits that were cut out on TV.

but my son (11) and I enjoyed it a great deal
Your rating will depend on your individual sense of humour, but my son (11) and I enjoyed it a great deal. This is an eighties film, and feels like it - in a good way.
