Is there a gap between the the bottom of the bag and the internal compartment sides? Can things fall in to next compartment?

Yes, the compartments are not attached to the bottom of the bag so sometimes things slide under.

what are the dimensions of the bag? Or the capacity in litres?

Iam not sure on the size but its a big bag at a guess its may be 18in x 18in x 18in may be a bit bigger it will hold a lot of kit
