I realize professional chiefs use a knife to open garlic but I always felt I was going to slice my hand while doing that. This mushroom is the perfect solution. So easy and durable. It may seem expensive but it lasts a long tome , years. I can't be without one.

Best tool for smashing garlic open ever. I recently moved, and lost my last one, so I repurchased. I’ve tried everything from the side of my Chinese vegetable cleaver, to the bottom of a mug, to do the same job; and while they all work, this Canterbury just feels good in the hand and does a flawlessly perfect job, clove after clove. I highly recommend it, and I will never be without one! It’s got a permanent home at the end of my large cutting board!

I love this little pounder! This really separates the peel. It’s comfortable in the palm of your hand. I smash the garlic a couple of times. Cuts way back on mincing. Sometimes I don’t bother, just sauté as is. Pretty much quit using my press. The only bad thing is it’s pricey. Worth it though.

This is one of those little gadgets that I would never have bought… until using one of a friend’s who was staying with me for a few months. I missed it when it was gone!! A little pricey but I bought one for a gift this year and splurged and finally got myself one, too! I hate messing with garlic (but love using it), and something about this makes it about ten times more enjoyable!

I started out using this just for fresh garlic. Works great for this but keep discovering more uses for it like crushing nuts for example. Thought that I had lost it and was so panicked that had to buy a replacement. The day after it arrived, I found the first one. Oh well, now I have an insurance one or can share it with someone.

This little tool is amazing - I was hesitant because it is rather pricey but has proven to be completely worth it. I use to spend so much time peeling garlic just to spend more time chopping tiny little pieces-the other tools I’ve used are gimmicky and hard to clean and regular garlic presses just smoosh the garlic into a mash like consistency. I love garlic but I would dread the process and sometimes use pre-chopped garlic in a jar which is no where near the flavor of the real deal. This is so easy to remove the peel and crush with one tool and the flavor and consistency is on point! Must have for all the cooks who think everything is better with garlic!
