I like this device. My huge 12TB HDD 3.5-Inch SEAGATE Barracuda fits easily - just insert and gently slide forward to click with data plug.The device feels snug and the interface is adequate USB 3.0 output. External AC adapter is fine - gets warm, of course - but does not overheat - even after hours of backup spinning. It can also be replaced whenever it burns up without having to replace the entire device. NICE DESIGN UGREEN ! ! !

Enclosure seems to be well manufactured. I tested it on several hard drives and SSDs and they were all recognized by Windows. I went with this one vs the other options on Amazon as I was familiar with this co and had bought other products from them in the past. The only caveat I would mention is removing a 3.5" SATA hard drive can require some effort as there's little room for leverage in the enclosure to pull the hd out of the connnector.

I purchased two of these, one for a 5TB and one for a 6TB drive. On one, the on off switch sticks in the down position. Not a big deal but annoying at times. Otherwise they would get 5 stars.

I haven't much to say, other than this device was exactly what I needed and worked flawlessly. I had suffered a fatal computer crash at the end of June and needed to recover documents and photos from the old hard drive. (I had done backups, but evidently missed the photos somehow.) A friend recommended I look at USB enclosures and, after research, I bought this UGREEN unit. It worked flawlessly. I experienced no trouble with the cover (which some others have reported), the old hard drive easily connected, and it interfaced smoothly with the new Win 11 PC. A few hours later, all was restored. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

I needed another case as I just replaced a 3.5" drive in one of my computers with a 2.5" drive and don't like to just throw away good storage.The case was easy to open to install/remove the drive . I tested this case using several different drives and on both a desktop and a laptop using both type A/C 2, 3.1 and 3.2. I used several cables that I have to make sure that the cable wasn't impacting performance. All the cables showed the same performance. In the testing I did several file transfers to and from the drive using sizes from a few Mb to some videos of 4-6Gb and some drive backups of over 300Gb. All were successful and when doing verification of copies showed complete and accurate copies. In all it takes me close to 2 days of testing.This may seem like an overkill but if I'm going to have something that will impact my data I want to know it is going to work and be safe to use.I tested the through put and it showed 97-100%. I have several make and models of case and they are all a little different in this area but most are in the 95-100% range so this is in the top of them.Overall I'm not disappointed and would recommend this case. If I need another case I will definitely by this again.

UGREEN hits it out of the park with this product like they do with most of their products. I recently replaced a couple of 3.5" disks with SSD's so I needed a couple of these enclosures to use the older 3.5" disks as backup drives. These enclosures were so simple and easy to use compared to the MANY enclosures I've used in the past. It took all of 10 seconds to install the hard drive into the enclosure, plugged it in, and I was up and running in less than three minutes. The enclosure is very easy to open to swap out drives and doesn't require any tools in order to do so. The hard drive sits inside the enclosure with soft pads on the sides so the drive won't get scratched and sit nice and firm without any room to move. The look and feel of the enclosure is quite modern, has a large activity light and and large power button on the top, making hard drive activity easy to see and powering the device on/off quite simple. Overall, this is a great product. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to build an external hard drive.

I like the enclosure, other people have commented that you can't use it for a nas because it requires it to spin up for a minute to become active, but honestly, that's not what this is for, and I like that it does that. Less hours on a drive that's not doing anything.
