I've seen a number of bad reviews about this product, but mine just arrived quickly and in perfect condition, with nice plastic corner protectors that did their job. I think some of the reviewers are expecting more from this product than it's intended use. These are great 3/16" foam core mats, which were surprisingly hard to find--most sellers only offer 1/8" think for white and that is often not sturdy enough. Also, all of the white mats I ordered are 3/16" thick, which is what I wanted, so I don't know why the title of the product includes the word "Many" in it: "Excelsis Design, Pack of 15, Foam Boards (Acid-Free), 11x14 Inches (Many, 3/16 Inch Thick Mat, White . . " To the managers of the company, I suggest you delete this word in the description as it sounds like many but not all of the boards are 3/16". I almost didn't order because of this confusing wording, but I'm glad I did. Perhaps you meant, Fifteen 3/16" Thick Mats. But again, great product!

Great cardboard panel for the price, it's a lot of panels.

[See middle bracketed paragraph for what has changed in this review] From the advertising in Amazon it may look like they only offer Black, but White is a choice in the process of placing the order. I use a 3M spray can of contact glue to apply to the board and then I quickly place the photo, there is no second chance with the 3M Contact 90 spray, but it's quick dry means a good adhesion and no bubbles or creases so long as you are quick and exacting. There's also no adhesive wetness coming thru the print and once down you are done. [REVISION: See new photo. The 3M Contact 90 (TM) spray adhesive behaved initially as expected, and I have used it on 20x30 boards where foam was sandwiched between two layers as is done here. The sandwich this product uses either had too porous of layers lining the sandwiched foam or two thin. The photo which transferred flat initially began to show serious and unacceptable bumps and unevenness (see photo). It's reasonable to assume the fumes from the solvent based 3M adhesive continued to exude solvent vapors that passed through the outer sandwich material into the foam which dissolved/displaced, expanded, warped. I am absolutely certain the solvent used in the adhesive combined with the makeup of the outer sandwich layers to have a bad outcome on the inner foam. I will try to find a non-solvent based fast drying adhesive. These are of no use to me unless I find such a product.] They do make presses where you can dry-mount and have more surety of placement (assuming you perfectly line of the three pieces and closing of the press doesn't cause them to shift). but those presses are quite expensive and the dry-mount adhesive sheets aren't cheap and may be problematic to store depending on your climate. I find this board and spray contact cement a great alternative, but again, no room for a re-do if you don't place it correctly. Practice on a scrap board without the real photo until you get the knack of being fast and accurate in your placement. I spray the whole board then I lay the picture on at one end and then basically lay it down progressively until it's all down.

I liked the sturdiness. Using to wrap quilting fabric for organization. Several were very dirty. Cleaned best I could, still stained after all that would come off came off. Hopefully won't mess up my fabric over time. Some were not square, meaning measurements were off and didn't square up on ruler when cutting to size wanted. Since just using for fabric, measurement being off didn't matter for me. Excelsis was advised and they are looking into why they were so dirty, etc. Would have given a 5 if weren't so dirty. Need 5 more packs of 15 soon. Will still order from Excelsis, they seemed generally concerned about the quality of their product. Update on my review, Excelsis customer service is awesome. They gave me a refund for the portion of the boards that were a problem. I didn't even have to ask for anything and they advised they will check to see what caused the condition of the boards I received. I will definitely order the additional boards I need from them. Will give them a 5 star rating. Update: the second set of 5 pkgs of 15 I received, their were 11 boards that were a little dirty, No where near as dirty as the first set o bought. The problem with this set, the majority were very warped. The third set i just received a week ok, were great, no complaints. No dirty boards, not even the packaging was dirty like the previous two orders. I will still order more from them.

Product seems to be sufficient for my needs, but it arrived damaged. So I can’t even use all of the materials that I paid for.

The size of these panels are perfect for small projects, these would work well in an art class for small artistic projects.
