Minumus by New Balance
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I loved the old New Balance Minimus I had several years ago, so i am trying this newer version. I love them, very comfortable and a great look.

No, it's not too narrow.
People are saying this shoe is to narrow. It may be, but only for people with feet like bigfoot. I have normal width feet and it fit perfectly. For the price, these are built incredibly well.Better than innov8 and others. I'm really happy.

Good Transition Barefoot Style Shoe But Do Have A Slight Arch
Update: I ended up returning these. The pain from the arch was too much for me. I ordered a wide version but they were still narrow compared to other normal width shoes I've purchased. Still think these shoes are nice but the Lem's Primal Zen are a much better barefoot transition shoe in my opinion (much wider toe box too but you have to order them on their website).Like others have mentioned you'll want to order a size larger than usual and unless you have really narrow feet I would also recommend ordering a wide version. I normally wear a size 13 in a normal sneaker style shoe and a size 14 wide fit nicely with a little room for my toes to move around. They definitely have more padding than I would expect from a typical barefoot shoe. For comparison, I can definitely feel a lot more of the ground in my Merrell Vapor. When I walk on an unpaved path I can feel the larger rocks but the small pebbles I barely noticed. If I'm walking on a sidewalk or paved roads these feel like more tradition shoes without as much padding and more flexibility, mainly in the front of the shoe. The shoes also feel very grippy. The only gripe I have with them is I feel like there is a slight arch that digs into my feet occasionally. I've come from wearing shoes with flat insoles and the arch is noticeable enough that it does cause some discomfort after wearing them all day or going for a walk, but so far it's not bothered me enough to make me want to stop wearing the shoes. I actually think they're one of the most comfortable and light-weight shoes I've ever owned and the lightness of them makes me want to walk faster than in normal sneakers. If you're used to wearing normal shoes, are used to a slight arch, and are looking for a lighter shoe that has more feeling in the soles but aren't looking for a "true" barefoot shoe or aren't ready for one then these are probably for you.

Not exactly what I ordered but still love what I got.
I ordered these shoes thinking I was getting shoes with laces (exactly) like the picture showed. I got BOA laces with my shoes which makes the shoe look a bit different but I still wore them out and the shoe is awesome! Feels great! I’d like to order another shoe with these type of laces now but the pictures don’t match what you’re getting. That’s my only complaint. Love the shoe that was sent! Pictures are what I thought I was getting vs what I got. Looks different. But I’m happy with the shoe overall.

Don’t buy
Not crazy about the design of these shoes. I bought one pair, they were a little snug. The first pair got returned, traded them in for another pair in which I went a half size up. Received them, still a little snug. Back they go. I was also hoping to receive the ones that have shoe laces as opposed to the straps. Feels like I’m wearing cyclist shoes. Wouldn’t recommend these to anyone.

the pictures are deceiving
I have another pair of women's minimus that I love, I just don't want to wear purple all the time. I was excited to see the men's had more color variety that included black. Well, while i like the shoes, these have the windy thing on the side versus the ability to tie my own shoe. I have hypermobile ankles so I need more flexibility and less fixed interference the windy (knob) thing causes. I like the shoe and the color...less the windy thing. I would give these four stars but considering the knob thing causes instability in my ankles, it is a 3-star review.update 1 August - they've since updated the picture to correct shoe.

Minimus no longer the go to shoe
I've been a fan of the New Balance Minimus line since they came out with it!What purpose do I use this shoe line up for?- Working out, very light sprints/jogging, strength training, deadlifts, etc.- The minimus category caters to folks who need a wide shoe, are minimalist and want a no nonsense shoe that just functions! Why can't I recommend this shoe?- It does not fit well. I've tried my regular size, I've purchased a half size up and even tried the 'New Balance Men's Minimus Tr Boa V1 Cross Trainer' shoe. I'm not sure who is designing these shoes but I hope the team goes back to basics. We don't need a weird tongue or anything fancy. Just have a regular lace up shoe with the vibram sole that's tried and true (what happened to vibram and why aren't they collaborating on the minimus line any longer? The shoe is expensive enough and now no vibram? come on ya'll.), have a few good colorways at a respectable price point and people will buy your shoe.- Like others are saying, these shoes fit too narrow! They need someone to actually test fit these before going to market. What shoe am I currently working out with?- New Balance Men's MX20v3 Minimus Cross-Training Shoe! I purchased these back in 2015 (yes I've been working out with them intensely for 7 years). Not only have I purchased the above listed NB shoes but I've also tried to New Balance Men's MX40V1 Cross Trainers & New Balance Men's 20v7 Minimus Training Shoe and they both do not fit well in my opinion.- You can read similar reviews on New Balance's official website and the reviews complain of the same thing (sizing & being too narrow)- I hope New Balance reads these reviews and there is better oversight. I'm still rooting for this category but I'm officially leaving Minimus behind (I'm done doing returns) and I'm looking for a different minimalist brand to cater to my workouts. If anyone has any good recommendations, let me know!
