SO CUTE!
I absolutely LOVED this sweet cute story! A basketball player named Vincent and a book lover named Kendall cross each others paths in a 24 hour library and the story doesn’t stop there! I loved the way they complimented each other. Such a joyous funny loving story. Definitely read when you can guys!

Super short and cute read!
Such a short and cute read. Got me out of a small slump. Only reason for not 5 stars is the ending was a lot of smut.... Which of course if your like Kendall its your preference just not mine.. :)

It was cute
A little annoyed with the FMC because she was kinda spastic. There were some funny parts, and I love how she was so into the smut, and all the tropes she talked about. Didn’t care for the “white girl tears part”, for some reason that stuck and seemed odd. I also wish they’d talked longer In The beginning, because her saying how much she missed his laugh and stuff ( repeatedly) didn’t make sense when they’d met 3 times for very short times each. But all In All it was good read, just would want some added scenes to fill in the gaps. Also the chapter breaks were unnecessary most of the time. I bought the paperback to go with my kindle version, so I’ll read it again sometime.

Sweet Sports Romance by an up-and-coming author
Rating: 5 starsWRITING STYLE: 1/1CHARACTER LIKEABILITY: 1/1ENTERTAINMENT: 1/1PLOT: 1/1ROMANCE: 1/1Kendall is a bookworm through and through. She would rather read about fictional men than interact with the guys at college. Like most introverts, Kendall is not an avid partier. Instead, she chooses to work the Friday night shift at the university library. It was during one of these Friday night shifts that Kendall met Basketball star Vincent Knight. Cue the awkward flirting, some makeout sessions in the stacks, and a few meddling friends. Fall in love with the characters and their adorable, introverted selves in “Night Shift”!First things first, I LOVED this book! I was introduced to the author when I found an Instagram recommendation post on the author’s profile. Annie Crown pulled me in and had me begging for more! The tropes alone made me immediately try to find this new KU release. I was sad at first when I learned that I discovered the book a month before its pub date, but the day it came out you can bet that I immediately checked it out! Once I finished, I went to try to find it at my “local” B&N (it’s an hour and a half drive) only to find out that the paperback wasn’t out yet.One thing that I felt made my read of “Night Shift” more enjoyable was that I read it through the lens of a bookstagram trend about the title of the book you’re reading describing your love life. While the title isn’t anything too descriptive, I found the story itself extremely similar to my relationship. Unlike a lot of college sports romances, this one had more mature characters. There were a few missteps and miscommunications (as there always are) but they were quickly resolved through healthy communication and vulnerability, even when it was uncomfortable for the characters. This is relatively rare in the new adult romance world. The characters were loveable and REAL. They had insecurities and dealt with them in a realistic way that didn’t involve going against their morals and values. I enjoyed the subtle but impactful character growth as each character got out of their comfort zone. The friends were solid in just about every way, even down to the not-so-subtle spying on a study session. I could imagine myself, my husband, and even our friends as I read this adorable new adult romance.I laughed and enjoyed every minute of “Night Shift”, and I sincerely hope you, dear reader, will as well!Favorite Quotes:“My roommates call me a hopeless romantic. I let them. It’s nicer than being called a lonely hermit.”“Life is far too short to let my shot at feeling like I’m in a romance novel pass me by.”“One thing I’m definitely sure of: miscommunication truly is the worst trope.”“You’re allowed to be horny, and you’re allowed to be sensitive and nervous and all the other things you are. You don’t have to be an archetype either. You can change. You can be whatever you want to be.”

The audiobook is so good!
The narrator Victoria Connolly is so good! This book has some spice in it, don’t be fooled by the amazing cute artwork.Tropes:He fell first.Bookworm/Basketball starCollege romanceI laughed throughout this book thanks in most part to the narrator. She is great and does great distinguishing between the FMC and MMC.Kendall was doing her usual nightshift at her university’s 24 hour library. Little does she know that her usual Friday overnight shift was going to change her love life in an unbelievable way.Vincent is the captain of the basketball team having trouble working on an assignment for his poetry class. With a bum wrist and overall terrible week, he makes his way to the university 24 hour library and comes across a very smart, beautiful worker at the circulation desk, Kendall. Also they are both very tall. Which helps explain Kendall’s overall look on life. I pictured the actress from the movie “Tall Girl.”The mention of Pride and Prejudice totally tugged at my heart. The explanations of tropes and just over all being a romance reader just spoke to me. I loved it. It’s cheesy in its own way and there is nothing wrong with a little cheese.Would I recommend? Yes and if you can get the audiobook. 100% yes!Would it be re-read? Yes to refresh my memory if there is a second book.Great read! It would have been 5 stars, but there were some parts that were repetitive and Kendall could not get out of her own head. That made me frustrated but overall I still really liked this book.
