I only recently tried these in my meads and wines. Now I use em in almost every brew. I even chard a few further to add a more smokey flavor.

I have bought Mead (honey wine) from total wine, and these oak cubes made my home made mead taste even better than store bought. I used USA+Canadian+Argentinian honey, fermented in a one gallon Italian glass wine jug with bottled water, lalvin wine yeast, and one chopped backyard plum for nutrients. Finally i added 10 of these oak cubes during primary fermentation. And added an airlock. Fermented to 18% alcohol with a far superior taste than store bought. First try.

Not worth the 44 bucks or whatever I paid. The char is a joke. Most if not all are only charred on one side of the cube (light char at best). I had to char em myself with my torch. Time consumin BS. Its why I bought these damn things so I didnt have to waste my time charrin damn wood myself!! Bought a bag of the French oak from these dorks as well n its the same way!! Definitely would NOT recommend!!! Y'all have a good day!
