The Experts' Guide to Winning Backgammon

I was a little skeptical at first since I am just learning the game, but I decided to give it a shot. Even after just a few days been using the guide, I can see my game improving. I’ve learned all the opening moves and I’m now working on the Replies to the Opening Moves. Can’t believe how many I was getting wrong! The reference positions and the counting help is great and the Keith count has really improved my doubling. It’s illustrated and built very well. I think it is something I will use for years.My husband loves it and just ordered his own. He is a tournament player and said just having a laminated match equity and take point tables alone is worth the price. But he’s also working on his “replies” as he calls them. Anyway, a really nice product.

Lots of information well resumed. Nevertheless it is absolutely necessary to have the companion book to understand what is all about, otherwise you will not understand 90% of the information.

Packed with information on the game, a handy reference to have on you should a question arise during a match. I use mine before games.

I found this Guide very useful for providing me key strategic opening moves, doubling considerations and general tactical and strategic principles.

Excellent resource.

I found out once I got it, that it is worth every bit the price. I use it daily. Can anyone tell me what is meant by "Down" in the Opening Roll & Play column?
