I have the same problem with my cat. I returned this feeder for a low-tech rotating feeder. I found the "upgraded" feeder impossible to set fast, as required. The "help" email provided proved to be non-existent . It's supposed to provide settings of the kind you want, but it is difficult to achieve.

I have not had any problems with the feeder. Initially one of the 3 feeders I purchased stopped working. But it was replaced.
