Best. (Small) Investment. Ever.
Our master bedroom is the furthest room from our central A/C. Due to the awkward layout of our cookie-cutter home, the lone vent that serves our bedroom snakes through 4 90s and transitions from sheet metal to flex, to sheet metal, and back to flex again as it goes through 2 separate floor cavities and up through a 2x6 interior wall. Long story short, it has never had adequate airflow to cool our room, especially during the 100°F+ dog days of summer. We already have a ceiling fan which does help, but it mostly just blows the warm air around the room. In the past, I've just run our central fan A LOT to continuously move air through the bedroom. Problem is, that means the central fan is always running circulating air through the whole house for the benefit of just 1 room. And running it all the time increases our power bill up by around $50/mo. Then I saw these vent boosters and thought "what if I used a 6 watt booster fan 24 hours per day instead of running our central fan almost all the time to see if it will achieve the same results?" Well I'm here to tell you, THE RESULTS ARE EVEN BETTER! I have the vent fan set to run full blast, 24 hours per day. And our room has stayed 8-10 degrees cooler than before, even through a record number of consecutive 100°F+ days this season. Since it keeps running when the A/C is not, it keeps pulling cool air through the cool evaporator coil even though the main fan is off. So the air it pulls through almost never even hits 70°F on the vent's thermostat. What's even better? Despite all those additional days of extreme heat this year, my power bill was about $50/mo less than previous years for the same months! So it paid for itself in a single month! So is it noisy? Yeah, a little, especially on the highest settings. But I can comfortably watch TV at a normal volume right next to it at a setting of 7 or lower. And since I sleep 5 feet from it, the Bluetooth app makes it really easy to adjust when we're in the room and need it a little quieter. We actually like the noise on high while we're sleeping, the white noise helps us sleep better. I leave it at a 10 at all times if I'm not trying to watch a show next to it. Conclusion: if it seems like this vent fan may be a good idea for a room that won't get cool or warm enough depending on the season due to an inefficient central air system, it is. Buy it today. You won't regret it. Sidenote, I'm in IT and I've used other AC Infinity products to cool expensive and important data equipment for a couple years now. They're all excellent. Better quality, quieter, and more useful features than units that cost 3X as much. This company knows what they're doing, and I can't sing their praises enough.

Very Impressed
First off let me say I'm highly impressed with this product. I purchased this back in September and wanted to wait for it to get alot colder before writing my review. Its now averaging in the 30s daily so this unit is doing alot of work. My house had an addition put on many years before I bought it. I've lived here now for 20 years, and the master bedroom in the addition was also supper cold compared to the other bedrooms. When I first looked into this the prior homeowner only attached a 4" flex duct off the main duct from the furnance and ran that through the crawl space, up the wall to registers, for a 20X25ft room. Needless to say for the past 20 years I've went through several heating blankets. The heating blankets are nice, once your under them, but when you get out, or even enter the room, its like 10+ degrees colder than the hallway. Not to mention the bedroom has vaulted ceiling. Anyhow I purchased on of these back in September hoping it would help with pulling in air flow into my bedroom. Since its been getting colder I can really evaluate its performance. To summary how this has been working for me would be best described with one word, AWESOME! I wasn't sure what to expect, but this register is working better than expected. To start, its easy to install and program when to kick on/off. I had a outlet nearby, so no issues with getting it powered. It runs automatically and has been keeping my bedroom much warmer, pretty much within a couple degrees of what the downstairs thermostat is set at. I no longer need a heating blanket as this keeps my room warm. Not only have I felt the increased flow when its on form the single vent I replaced it with, but also the original vent on the other side of the room is also now blowing out with more force. This is probably that both vents come from that single 4" feed from the main duct. That was a nice surprise. I was thinking I might need to buy two, but the one is doing the trick. The only con to this product is the noise of the fans. I've chosen to have the fan motor on its highest setting since its a big room and the fan noise is a little loud. But that "loudness" is subjective to each persons perception. For me it doesn't bother me as I often have box fans running in a corner to drown out the noise of my kids who stay up later than I at night, so I can fall asleep. Personally I've had no issues with the fan noise. I'm very happy I found and purchased this register, I would recommend it for anyone who is looking to increase air flow like I was. My only other concern is what is the life ratings on the fans? I'm imagining these are probably quite long, as they look similar to ones in computers, which I know last years. I hope its the same or longer.

Used this to cool a PC in a cabinet. Works very well and have no issues. Seems like it’s built to last and the remote gives you total control or you can set it to activate on temperature.

It works as described. Easy to install if you have standard opening in your home. A little noisy but you can control the fan speed and find a compromise between noise and airflow. I like the automatic feature which causes the fan to start when temperatures go outside of range (higher or lower) for both AC and heating system. Only comment is that it is much easier to use and program with the app. App is great but trying to program the unit directly can be tedious.

Perfect if you want to boost existing duct vents Worked great to increase heating in my kids bedroom, it used to be cold now it’s fine Using this is Australia so just bought an inbound Adaptor for $5 and it is rated at 240v Would recommend as it’s easy to program

I want to start this review off by saying AC Infinity has some reputable products that work great! Like the rest of the reviews on here, I was looking for a way to bring more cool air into my baby room during the hot summer months and on fan setting 5 this thing did the trick! I do have a few things that you might want to keep in mind! Pros: - Pretty much everything that's said in every review. It's easy to install, fits perfectly, and delivers a bunch of cold (or hot) air to the room that needs it the most. The fan can be very quiet and I don't find the loudest setting that loud (we have an air purifier that is 10x louder than this vent). - Customer service is helpful! Cons: - You can't close this vent. There are instances where we had to close our vent because the room in the winter was too hot when the rest of the house is cold. Well, it's not possible without purchasing a vent cover. Not a big deal but something to think of. - Everyone states programming this device is easy, which it is, but I find it's not intuitive. You need to program the device for what the temperature of the room "would be" after the A/C or Heat are on at the temperature of the air coming through the vent. For instance, when the A/C is on, the temperature on the vent reads 10C and so I have programmed it to run whenever it hits 10 degrees Celcius not when it's above 23C for instance. I find this way of thinking so backwards. I mean, when you set the temperature in the house you set it to what you want it to turn on at not what you think it should turn on at depending on the heat from the furnace. In my opinion, they should have added the thermostat externally to the vent to make this more intuitive. - There is a difference between the actual temperature and what is shown. In the picture, it states 24 when the room is actually 22... This adds to the confusion of programming. All in all, I think if you can get over the weird programming of this device it does work like a charm. It forces tons of air into the desired room bringing the temperature up or down very quickly to your desired temp.. In the end, I'm satisfied with the purchase as it does work exactly as described!

Tl;dr - It's kinda pricey but works flawlessly, you get what you pay for. Used for entire heating season. Read below for details: Our home is heated with a central forced air wood/oil combo furnace. One of the bugs of this system is that when we are burning wood (95% of the heating season) the blower cycles are relatively short - maybe 5 or 7 minutes compared to oil where the blower cycle is a solid 15-20 minutes. The trade off is that between blower cycles there is always a gentle convection of air through the vents around the house - it's very cozy, except for the farthest bedroom and den from the furnace. It really needs the blower action to get hot air up there. I thought with this unit is that it would trigger during a blower cycle then run for some time after the cycle, basically charging the room with some extra warm air. I purchase this unit for the bedroom and a cheaper version from a hardware store for the den because the cheaper unit would not fill the vent in the bedroom. The cheap unit I bought for the den worked good enough - it is single speed, clicks on and you can hear it blowing like a small fan. It improved the comfort level in that room. A bit noisy but OK. This unit is superb! The far bedroom is perfectly warm and because you can play around with the fan speed you can optimize it so that there is virtually no noise. The lower fan speed setting extended the effective run time for that room from 5 minutes up to easily 10 or more, problem solved. Two of the kids sleep in that room and neither of the notice the noise. The unit was unplugged for a few days this winter when one of the kids unplugged it to charge a tablet. The room was noticeably damp and cooler. All said, this thing cost be about twice what the cheap unit did, but it does work twice as well. Previously we had an electric heater in this room, so I'm sure the payback is only a couple of heating seasons.
