Extremely nice, but not perfect
I got this statuette to serve as a somewhat sophisticated and worldly paperweight; it is adequately heavy. In studying western world history and even in contemporary religions and secret societies, it seems Horus is often a central character. Some historians will even say that the halos depicted above the heads of holy saints originated with the sun disk atop Horus. In any case, Horus is always a good discussion starter. This resin statue is well made. It appears that the resin was either bronze colored or painted with bronze after being formed. The entire statue was then painted using a convincingly-colored copper-oxide green patina. The fake patina was then distressed (rubbed and scraped) to give the look of being old and worn. I found that by simply rubbing the statue in my hands, the natural oils in my hands helped to polish the 'brass/copper/gold' and to realistically wear away some of the patina. So raised edges are now more polished with less patina, and recesses have heavy patina. My one issue with this statuette is that there is a drip of resin on one side. It looks like a drop of wax that you might expect to see on a candle. But because it is resin, it would need to be cut off or filed/sanded down, and that would result in badly scarring the statue by removing a large patch of patina, and perhaps even removing the brass coloring as well. It is a relatively small drip, so I've chosen to leave it alone. But, a better quality control system would have been able to catch this.
