It come with everything you need to learn how to crochet. I had a bit time with the booklet but I was able to find videos that worked fine. Would recommend for beginners.

While I wish the bag was a little bit better quality (it works fine, but it is very plastic/vinyl), the variety of the overall kit is great. Admittedly, as someone who is still only a few months into crocheting, I still don't understand how to use all of the tools, but I am enjoying the quality of the crochet hooks and the yarn has a nice soft feel (I think they call it milk cotton). Plus, I really love the variety of yarn colors. They are mini skeins, but have been perfect for small amigurumi projects. The yarn's tendency to fray is why I think of it more as a bit more difficult than basic beginner (would seek out non-fraying yarn for true beginners), but once you get the hang of it the yarn is great. It is nice that it comes with travel scissors, rulers, stitch markers, and embroidery needles. Gifted to someone for Christmas and they loved everything about it. The carrier case is durable and has an abundance of space!

I bought this for my 23 yr old daughter who wanted to learn amigurumi. I taught her to crochet years ago, but she didn’t have any supplies left. So I got her this set since she loves cow print, and it had EVERYTHING! All sizes of hooks she could possibly need, even down to some little eyes for the project she wanted to work on! It was perfect!

Plus: you get some decent hooks and tools.Minus: Yarn is horrible, maybe use it to practice only. It's not going to make anything of value. The bag is very cheap feeling. The tools come loose in the bag and there is NO description of is included or what is what in the bag. For beginners that is really not a good thing. They need to include an informational sheet of what each tool is. You can get that information by going back to the product description online.The book: terrible for beginners. A limited description of tools and more importantly, the pictures of stitches are so TINY that you cannot see the detail, even with a magnifying glass (which I tried to no avail).
