don't put this in your dishwasher
I have had my Oster blender for years and recently ran the jar base cap (collar) through the dishwasher. It no longer fit and so I was ready to buy a new blender, but I really liked its quality and ice crushing ability, so decided to try the replacement cap. I didn't think it had a prayer of fitting since it was a 20 year old Oster, but it slid right on and worked without a problem. I assume the replacement shouldn't go through the dishwasher either, but I don't know. I do know I learned my lesson and will hand wash from now on. If you are looking for a replacement, make sure to count the number of fins on the collar.They seem to have both 5 and 6 fin versions and you can easily tell which one is your match from the photos on amazon.

It perfectly fits in my blender machine. Easy to work on, but it slightly leaks.

Replacement part vs having to buy a new blender
The jar base cap split horizontally and I thought I'd have to replace my blender, but was bothered that the blender was still in good working condition. Then I looked up replacement parts and was able to get two for a minimal price and continue to use my old blender rather than spend money for a new one.
